I called this weeks ago (http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?p=43569249#p43569249).Curry is one of the top 3 shooters ever and has a flair for dramatic tough highlight scoring plays. That's where his greatness ends. He is coming up donuts right now vs Dellavadova in the biggest moment, which I anticipated. Also, GSW's personnel never fit the traditional profile of a historically great offensive or defensive team, if you look back. They are the darlings of this advanced stat mess taking over. Those stats made them out to be one of the top 10 teams ever. I hope people now realize that crap has it's place but is not the end-all.

Do you know what point differential is? It's not very advanced. GSW had one of the highest point differentials of all time, and most advanced models would agree with that. Advanced stats mess? Why, because it goes against your opinions and your biases?

They're mounting a comeback as I type this but even if they don't, it doesn't change the fact that they had one of the greatest regular seasons of all time, and looked damn good for 90% of the playoffs too.

well you can't deny the fact that steph curry is a superb player, and can score from anywhere on the court....but he's the goldenboy of the NBA right now (durant passed the torch)(davis is next) and he seems untouchable by the media/fans...as a matter of fact, he's being dubbed a generational player...sorry thats simply not true. he's a very exciting player to watch, and he sells lots of tickets, but by no means is he generational...
kobe, lebron, magic, jordan, shaq, hakeem, kaj, wilt, kg and russell..imo are the only "generational" players ever because of how gifted they were and how impactful they were.
then you have the likes of bird, duncan, and stockton who were never gifted but had NBA-ready-einstein-brains, and were playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers.
and lastly, you have the superstars who know how to 'do their thing' on the court....like iverson, tmac, kidd, nash, ewing, melo, pierce and now curry.
everyone i mentioned is a hall of famer, including curry (very deservingly) but i won't be surprised if another curry comes into the NBA in the next 6,7,8 years.

Curry is a pompous flashy 3 point chucker who keeps dancing around at the 3 point line instead of driving to the rim when he has a easy first step on the defenders since they are up against him.

I have nothing against advanced stats. Just wanted to say that Golden State is not nearly as good as stats may indicate. Neither is curry. How do you measure his heart vs Dellavedova With stats?

Curry's game 4 play defines the kind of player he is. Looking forward to it.

Would've been braver to post this thread before Curry started playing poorly, instead of in the middle of it.

gsw are a GREAT regular season team, but thats where it ends. they are getting exposed against a tough physical defensive team, which is what happens in the finals, no easy baskets.
