Predict the next NBA trend

Post#1 » by Prestige » Tue Oct 13, 2015 6:42 pm

Based on the wiretap: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/239495/Average-NBA-Team-Now-Attempting-More-3s-Than-04-05-Suns

In the past decade we've seen a variety of NBA trends that have culminated in today's NBA:

1) 3 point gunning

2) Stretch fours

3) Small ball

The Warriors perfected all 3 and were rewarded with a championship.

What is the next trend? Where is the NBA headed?

The next trend will be ballhandling fours, I think. It's nice to stretch out there, but what about getting back to the hoop.

Player-GMs. Players are more and more calling the shots on teams so I expect more "franchise" players to decide who gets traded, etc.

Especially with the rise in the salary cap, teams will be hard pressed to say no to their star player if he wants his buddies to be signed for max contracts on the team.

NBA players abandoning the super team method to win championships and take some dang pride in being the sole leader to lead your team to a championship.

Remember the days when

Chris Paul was on the Hornets
LeBron was a OG Cav
Melo was on the Nuggets
Kidd was on the Nets
Pierce was the sole driving force of the Celtics
KG was on the Timberwolves
Kobe was the sole driving force of the Lakers
Pau was on the Grizzlies
Bosh was on the Raptors
Brandon Roy was on the Blazers
Durant was the sole driving force of the Thunder
Dwight was on the Magic
Wade was the sole driving force of the Heat

remember those days! I want them back! NOOOOOOW! Gimme gimme gimme

Now you have a 1 in 4 chance to predict the NBA Finals Champions before the preseason starts because the NBA has turned into a superteam joke. Where is the guts with superstar players anymore wanting to win one by themselves to create their legacy while also creating a even balance of power across the league where system, coaching and having 1 star leader meant the difference between winning and losing. :banghead:

The return of the 7-foot defensive anchor
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!
