Spurs waive Jimmer Fredette

I didn't see a thread on it, but it's official. Jimmer sucks. Not even the Spurs could make something out of him. Doesn't have the physical tools, skills or IQ, and the one thing he was supposedly good at, shooting, disappeared. Anyway...

Jimmer Mania came to an end right around the time Jimmer Fredette took the last of those pulsating, pull-up 3-point bombs from, oh, five to 10 feet beyond the line, during his thrilling senior year at Brigham Young. The problem for Fredette – and his devoted collection of fans stretching from upstate New York to the middle of Utah – was the continued expectation that the craze would find a home of some kind in the NBA, where short shooting guards with slow feet and no ability to adjust aren't long for the league.

...

"Jimmer thinks everybody is stupid," said an NBA assistant who worked with Fredette. "He thinks everybody needs to come and just turn over their offense and let him shoot it anytime he wants. That's not how the league works."

Those are some harsh words... he's 26 and it doesn't look good for him career wise

Some people mightn't be surprised that Jimmer wasn't successful in the NBA, but it's very surprising he couldn't even carve out a niche as being a shooter.

It's surprising his good college shooting never even translated to the NBA (well, so far anyway.....).

Kings lottery picks since Cousins

Bismack Biyombo - traded on draft day for Fredette - subsequently bought out
Thomas Robinson - traded away in his rookie season
Ben Mclemore
Nik Stauskas - Traded after rookie season
Willie Cauley-stein

Sweet baby Jesus!

I'm kinda surprised that the Jazz haven't signed him. Sign him for vet min and sell a ton of jersies, then let him go later on if he isn't useful.

Profit.

I just was looking for the Kings draft war room youtube vid, and shockingly enough I can't find it anywhere. They were creaming in their pants that that Staukas was on the board when they drafted him.

What I find crazy is that him and Stephen Curry had almost identical college stats and the same knocks against both of them coming out. (too small, not explosive, below average nba athlete) yet one is the MVP and one is out of the league.

I would have loved to see who they would have drafted if they had the #1 pick in each of those years.

Curry is a better shooter, has a quicker release, a much better handle, and has better court vision. Not really surprising.

To their credit, they probably wouldn't have picked Anthony Bennett with the first overall pick.

With the flashes of David Kahn still rattling in my brain, I can tell you that it could be worse, haha.

A thread about the waiving of Jimmer and somehow you post the Kings' past 5 years of draft selections?

Great!

You might be better off avoiding the GB if you are this sensitive mate.
