No way. I love Shaq, but if anyone's statue should be in front of Staples it's Jerry Buss.

There's statues for Magic, Kareem, West, De la Hoya and Gretzky outside Staples so I'd think Jerry Buss is next and Kobe, Shaq to follow but they'll wait for his hall of fame enshrinement before building a statue.

They could do a dual Kobe Shaq one statue but the ego in both would prolly take that as a diss more than reverence

That Magic Jihnson statue is terrible.

Kobe lobbing to Shaq like the 2000 WCFs would be awesome, but as said, I doubt they would be willing to share a statue and Kobe would definitely (and understandably) get one first. Shaq deserves one there though.

Yeah that is pretty bad. Reminds me of Deion Sanders Hall of Fame bust which was off. It looks like more like Troy Aikman.

Aside from the Lakers who already have statues who are these "10 others"? Did any of them lead the Lakers to 3 straight championships or were the best player on the Lakers for 8 straight years?

If Shaq had accomplished that for any other team in the league (aside from the celtics perhaps) he'd get a statue. It's just that the Lakers have had a lot of other legends too.
