The Hawks Have To Have A Shakeup Right?

The Hawks were just eliminated from the playoffs. Swept by the Cavs for the 2nd straight year.
Horford - 29 - UFA
Milsap - 31
Korver - 35
Bazemore - 26 - UFA
Teague - 27
Schroeder - 22
Sefolosha - 32
Splitter - 31
Humphries - 31 - UFA
Hardaway Jr. - 24
Scott - 27
Muscala - 24
They have a ton of solid players, a fantastic coach, but they have been trying with this core for a while now and just have proven not to be good enough to contend but still good enough to make the playoffs every year (11 years straight now).
The most interesting parts of this off-season for them are:
Do you try to lock Horford up long-term? He's going to get a max deal, he's gonna be 30 next year, and he's been a Hawk his whole career.
What do you do with Teague and Schroeder? Schroeder has the most potential out of anyone on this team but I think you need to pick one by the end of the offseason and try to improve elsewhere with what you can get for the other. They are both going to be free agents after next season and they will not be able to keep both.
So what do you do if youre Budenholzer and the Hawks management?

They should have dealt Teague before the trade deadline.

Horford and Bazemore are gone. Should have traded Teague over the summer. Hawks going to have to rebuild.

Some teams are just content making the 2nd round year in and year out.

And Al Horford. He was exposed during these playoffs.

Do what Boston did. Try to trade some of your vets for draft picks/younger players and rebuild.

Minny gives #5 pick, Bazz for Millsap. Hawks shed salary, get a young athletic wing stuck on the bench of a talented roster and get to have a top 5 pick. Wolves get good quick and Hawks rebuild moves along faster than expected

I can't wait for Phil to offer him the max and then dip out

Kyle Korver should find his way onto the Cavs.

Phil won't do that because we have our starting 4/5. If ATL wants Lopez, then Phil might go after Horford. Until then, nah.
Anyways, I don't think ATL will rebuild - I don't think they "can." Maybe they lose Dennis, but I see them retaining the vast majority of the team and not going the rebuild route. Retool, maybe; rebuild, no.

1. Trade Teague
2. Resign Bazemore
3. Let Horford go, and go after Whiteside instead. Horford is not a rim protector and will command more money as well.

Yeah, 29 is ancient. Warriors better trade Steph Curry before he turns 29 next year and his game falls off a cliff.

I would keep Shabazz, but that said, I would definitely trade the fifth overall pick for Paul Millsap, even with his 1 + 1 deal.

I played with this idea. Didn't think it could happen though. Would love to get Lavine as well some how.

They finally produced a team worth getting fans into some seats. Rebuilding is the last thing they should do.

With the new ownership in place we shall see what the future holds.
Verbally the ownership intends on improving and winning so they say, but changes are necessary, but the unknown is if they'll actually occur.

Things are tight in the Eastern Conference. If Hawks keep their team together and Korver gets healthy they could be 2nd seed again.
Why blow up a squad that plays well together.

I always hear people say we should just start over and move on from this team. I think fans will appreciate a re-tool only if we are completely moving on from this core of players.
