After the first three games of the NBA finals, LeBron James averages more points, rebounds, assists, steals and minutes than any other player of both teams:

PS: I saw this stat on r/nba.

the number that really matter is 2-1 though , it will get uglier if it's 3-1 after game 4

The most impressive part is that I'm not surprised by this.
Impressed sure but not surprised.

This tells me that if the Warriors win the Finals, then Draymond Green should be Finals MVP. He's the only Warriors player that is top 3 on all those lists. Where is Steph Curry? Well, he's being shut out by a team that is taking away the only thing he can do.

It'll be like last year when the Warriors win the finals but people will suggest Lebron should be MVP. No one on the Warriors has been dominant enough to make the MVP a clear cut choice. Lebron as loser MVP is a possibility again.

I am not a big LeBron fan but pretty much everyone already knew LeBron was one of the best ever - how great is debated but he's WAY UP THERE! What I admire most about him is that he is a fantastic team-oriented individual, to the point where many think he should be more selfish. I'm betting LeBron would be willing to be off all of those lists, if it meant his team had the lead in games won.

And his team is 2-1 down and a long shot to actually win the title.
His ability to put up monster numbers and perform on the big stage is not in question. The question marks are around his all consuming presence and holding franchises to ransom to give him free reign and how that is perhaps holding the Cavs back from being as good as they could be.
Everybody jumps to believe the secret to GSW success is the small ball model - It isn't. It's building a roster with team first guys who buy into a culture. Curry doesn't care if he wins MVP as long as he wins the title.

I'd imagine Jerry West did it a few times.

i know right
Curry is fully capable of dropping 30 in the next games but the dude's simply not the player that peak Jordan/LeBron were.

This isn't surprising. I expect LeBron to literally dominate while still losing the series.

He dominated last year, I don't know what this version of LBJ is doing.

Most valuable player in the Finals.
Draymond was right when he said the team was their MVP. While incredible together, that entire team is interchangeable parts. Their performance simply doesn't change much when one of them is out.
Clearly the league desperately wants Curry to win that award, but like last year he's not holding up his end of the bargain. Draymond has been their best player but is just a lightening rod of negativity. This might be the year the league needs to hand the MVP to the best player in the series regardless of who wins.

honestly if they didnt give to LeBron last year, then they're not giving him this year.
anyways, lets wait. Game 3 was LeBron's first great game in the series.
