As a Laker fan, think this is pretty good value for a guy that was horribly underused by Byron last year. Welcome back, Tarik!

6m/per for a 10/10 per36 guy who always played with heart - very good deal. I was upset back then we let him go to leave a spot for Josh Smith.

Now if he can improve his abysmal 42% shooting from the line.

Think there might be hope on the FT end. 60% in 8 games in the D-League this year on a more reliable indicator of 5 attempts per. He worked on a mid range jumper last summer too, but Byron didn't play him because he thought he was "too nice" of a guy.

That was a solid find by Morey and we got lucky with the waiver claim. Black is built like a tank but needs to improve on help defense and stepping out on pick and rolls.

Yeah I was so not happy because we could have cut Joey Dorsey (or someone else), but Moray decided to waive Black to save some money for Les since Black was most certain to be claimed off his waiver. Which he did.

Byron set his development back for sure. The kid is so likeable, always played the game the right way, to his strength, hardly doing stupid stuff on the offensive end (the reverse of Dwight Howard lol). Let's hope Luke can get him going!

2nd year is Team Option, then it's an excellent deal. Basically an expiring to help get to the floor (not like we signing any premium FAs at this point) and if he gets unleashed from being stuck under the bull Byron "Complete Moron" Scott offense then his option year would be a steal. If he remains scrubtastic, meh, its just 1 year.

Should of signed him to a longer deal. We give Black 2 years but give Freakin Mozgov 4 years

Lol in this current market, what makes you tarik would want to play for 4 years at 6 mil per year when guys much inferior are commanding more?

I see this as tarik hoping to finally show what hs capable of doing and getting an even bigger pay deal when he does.

Good signing. Nice locker room guy, plays hard, hustles, does the little things.

And I just wanted to say **** Byron Scott.

Nice signing. Always thought he played with a lot of energy and was underutilized.
