Yes, I loved him in the draft. In his last year in college, he scored 16.5 ppg, on 53.6% shooting, 44.6% from 3, with 5.3 rpg, 4.9 apg, and 1 spg. http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/caris-levert-1.html

His defense was one of his questions coming out of college and he's way more advanced defensively than I thought. The Nets are developing him into a two way wing and he hasn't disappointed thus far. His shooting has ironically become his one area of struggle.

Yeah...Green is a good defender who - like every well-established "good defender" in the NBA - gets away with MURDER as well.

Well that was kind of my point he did all that while getting fouled by him. Imagine if Green was called for all that he did, Saric would have certainly a 30 point game, both from the free throws and that Green wouldnt be that aggressive on him for being in foul trouble. And we are talking about a rookie vs a vet. So if you are playing by two different rules and the vet and a DPOY has all the advantage i would say he was owned and made a bitch. Now if they were playing under the same rules i would say they had both a good game.
But i agree with you on the second part, but he is a rookie so he is trying stuff out. He will learn and adapt.

Saric last 25 games:

17.4 PPG, 7 RPG, 3.2 APG, .9 SPG, .4 BPG, 54.7% TS

It’s his to lose at this point without taking embiid into account. Remains to be seen if voters will totally ignore the fact that he didn’t even play half a season.

Now that we've seen close to an entire season of these two would lakers draft brown over Ingram? It was a two player draft at the time, but in hindsight I believe lakers take brown. Both seem to be upping their game as of lately but brown is doing it at good percentages and is already a decent defender. Too early to tell their ceiling.

I sometimes wonder how half the league's GMs have a job in this league? How can you miss on Skal in this weak class? HOW? I don't get it. It was so damn obvious!

Skal (and Brown) are two shining examples from this class on why it's important to consider college situation.

Skal's stock tanked when he wasn't performing last year but the tools are there and he's showing now. Brown had mediocre production in college but again, the prevailing tools have made him a strong rookie this year.

I think Simmons would be another great example if he was healthy to dismiss the 'but his college team didn't win games' narrative that hurts players stock in some peoples eyes. It will be interesting to see how guys like Fultz, Smith Jr. etc. are impacted this draft class, because they mirror Simmons LSU year in the fact that they generally produced at an elite level but their team didn't do well, and attitude/consistent effort levels were questioned. For me, it's a non-factor.

Exactly - I remember people arguing before the draft that Bender wasn't getting many minutes/had modest production overseas. Once they get to the NBA it all means squat.

Is Marquese Chriss a better prospect than Skal Labissiere? The Suns traded Skal (pick 28), Georgios Papagiannis (pick 13), the rights to Bogdan Bogdanovic and Detroit's 2020 second-round pick for him. I guess time will tell.
