Is Nikola Jokic a franchise level talent?

I'm am annoyed that Malone almost ruined his development this year and if anything killed his chances for an All Star spot.
Jokic in December: 16.2/9.2/4.4 on .692 from the field and .455 from 3.
Want to know what makes it more impressive?
He's doing this IN 25 MINUTES A NIGHT.

He's good, but he's no Embiid

I'm very confused by your eye roll reaction to that?

How many bigs can do this:
Used to think Nurkic was the better player, but nope.

Franchise level bigs tend to amazing physical gifts and they develop their skill set gradually while they are in the league. Jokic seems really advanced in the skill set department but he's not all that gifted physically.
I think he can definitely be a multiple time all star, but depending on your definition of "franchise level" talent I'm gonna say no. I don't view him on the level of Embiid, Towns, or Porzingis to name a few as a prospect who i'd consider potential franchise level talents.

Absolutely imo. Walton should be the guide. Bogut is a more recent guy. Hopefully healthier than either.
Examples of ceiling, he's not there yet (especially defensively).

I think it has to do with Embiid being brought up out of nowhere for no reason.

Zero relevance to the title or discussion in the thread. No mention of how jokic compared to other bigs.
I was concerned with jokic and how little time he was getting to start the year. Good to see him coming on strong in December.

So, are you saying that you want Malone to give Jokic more than 25 minutes a night?

Yes.
He can be the greatest passing big we've seen.
His skillset is rare for a big.
He can build up his body and he can improve in D.
You can work on these things, but his arsenal offensively is pure talent.

Really? Unless he was trying to be funny/sarcastic the eye roll works perfectly

He would be great as the second guy, kind of like the Pau Gasol era Los Angeles Lakers.

Nuggets have to be the most underrated young team, probably because they don't have a roster of top 5 picks.

I don't know if he can be a first option (right now I don't think) but his high post is impressive, the best comparison for him is still Draymond Green.

It's impressive we have the team we have and haven't picked higher than 7.

He's more like Marc Gasol with better passing but worse defense.
Maybe a rich man's Vlade Divac down the line.

Ya I agree with this. There aren't that many legit #1s out there that can lead a team to a championship. I think he can be the #1 to a playoff team but if he's going to be on a championship he will have to be a 2nd option.
