The Raptors have the best point differential in the East, although they've lost 5 in a row (what's going on there?).

Is it because his box score stats aren't as gaudy as Harden and Westbrook? Ok, but Kyle Lowry is a stud and plays both sides of the court! Is it because he plays in Canada? Is it because he's slowly gotten better overtime and wasn't a huge star when he was younger? What is it?

The man deserves to be in the same breath as all those other mega-stars.

It's Lowry, he's the type of player you love if you're a fan of the game, but he isn't flashy and just does his job so he doesn't get the notoriety he deserves

Lowry is one of my favorite players, but I understand why causal fans don't know him


The persecution complex in Toronto is ridiculous...I think it's crazier that a flashy and talented player like giannis gets fairly little love from CASUAL fans (not here on realgm where he gets his love)

Yes, you are correct. He is not flashy. He is not clutch in the playoffs. He plays in Canada. He played poorly for the first 5 seasons of his career. He admitted he was out of shape for a duration of his career. He will turn 31 in March. He doesn't have his own shoe line like Harden, Westbrook, Durant and Curry. The media do not hype him up so general fans do not know who he is.

When Vince Carter was on the raptors they were decently popular in America in late 90s and early 2000s

No reason for usa to care but unless the leafs win the stantly cup on the same day. Toronto would go crazy for raptors championship Canada too. That's all the matters. even usa teams as soon the confetti and parade happens. people don't care it's Draft time. The home city will only cares

If you don't put up "gaudy" numbers and you don't win (in the playoffs), you're not going to be in the same breathe as a 'superstar'.

I don't think it's a Canada thing necessarily. Vince was overrated by the media playing in the same market.

I think the biggest reason is that he was a late bloomer. He played for 3 teams and was primarily a backup for several years and then suddenly he was really really good. Any Raptor fan who says they saw this type of ceiling for KL when he joined the team is lying.

- Boxscore stats don't blow you away
- Not really flashy, flashiest thing he does is the occasional three from 5 feet behind the line. Doesn't have the crazy handle like Irving or Curry, insane court vision passes like CP3 or the athleticism of a Wall or Westbrook.
- Chokes in the playoffs and Raps fans blame it on "injuries'

He may have had a few poor games in the playoffs but he also had some great ones.

Stop with these posts, there was a huge Lowry thread earlier.

Threads like this are the reason why the Raps fans get a bad rep on these boards.

He needs to prove it in the playoffs, he's had some of the worst games in NBA playoff history. He needs to be consistent in the playoffs not just show up every other game against teams the Raptors had no business going 7 games with.
