Deserve props. Won 22 of last 30 games after injury plagued start. John Wall is dominating and Scott Brooks is helping develop young guys. I was honestly expecting the Wizards to compete more in the east the last two years with pretty stacked rosters, but 2017 is the year I guess.

Cool read on the impact Scott Brooks has had on the team.

easily the 2nd best team in the east. they dont count on 1 star to win all the games in 4th like the celtics and have solid Role players unlike the raptors. they have a great starting lineup built for the playoffs

I also think they're the 2nd best team in the East now. Only thing they gotta prove is they can stay healthy. But when healthy that squad is built for the playoffs. What's the news on Mahinmi? If he can give them anything this season, look out.

They need a better bench as they probably have the 2nd best starting 5 in the East. Add one more solid player to their bench and boom, 2nd best team in the east by a good margin.

Wizards FO know they need a bench player. A bench scorer to be exact. As they were out scored by the lakers in the 4th quarter. They know the price.

Should be back before the all-star break which is much needed b/c they're running Gortat out there for 30+ minutes this season.

They need to make one move, and that's for a scorer off the bench...Barton, Chandler...Sweet Lou, anybody.

The only hesitation I have is Ernie is notorious for offering lottery protected picks, and 2017 is supposedly a deep draft so I would trade a first rounder with the condition that its protected 1-20 the first year, and then lesser protections following that.

To think they are doing this IN-SPITE OF Ernie Grunfeld as a GM is what's most shocking. So much tenure with so much failure. Literally nonsensical.

last 3 seasons 2 of them went to the 2nd round. drafted well besides vesaly. alot of teams would be dreaming of what the wizards have. puts things in perspective

Good for them...

Did the wizards fans do an amazingly sucky thread for the entire team after the 76er loss?

You know that Gortat likely checks in every now and then.

Beal doesn't get enough credit IMO, he's putting up 22PPG on 59% TS, he's the difference maker IMO and perfect compliment to Wall.

A lot of teams? We **** up on the draft.

2009 - traded the 5th pick for Mike Miller and Randy Foye. Curry was picked 7th
2010 - John Wall, fine, but had the 30th pick that year and drafted Lazar Hayward...Hassan Whiteside was drafted 33rd (granted he moved around a lot)
2011 - this is where we messed up. Could have taken Leonard at 6, we had the 18th pick, I loved Faried in that draft, Tobias Harris was there, Jimmy Butler. 2nd round we go with Shelvin Mack, but Chandler Parsons was picked in this round.
2012 - Beal in the 1st, but 2nd round? Picked Tomas, but Draymond Green was there, Jae Crowder, Will Barton
2013 - Porter
2014 - traded the pick for Gortat which was a solid trade
2015 - Oubre who's turning out to be a stud
2016 - traded for Morris which has been OK so far

We messed up 2009. That's where we still had Gilbert, Jamison, Butler. Before the gun scandal, could you imagine that team with Curry? But that didn't happen, we had 2011 to rectify things and none of the guys from that draft are on this team. Wall/Leonard/Faried/Parsons core? Are you kidding me? There's no guarantee we would have picked where we did in 2012, but just look at the 2nd round talent.

It's gotten better the last 4 years, but we screwed the pooch from 2009-2011.

could have been johnny flynn or rubio who knows. i think steph didnt want play some of those teams in that range. but that 7-8 years ago future is great now

Mahinmi practiced yesterday.

If all goes well the plan is for him to get in a few games before the break.

1 Cavs vs 8 Bucks/pistons
4 Raptors vs 5 Hawks (or switch seeds)

2 Wizards vs 7 Bulls
3 Celtics vs 6 Pacers

Would love that so we can see a celtics wizards series. Then a cavs-wizards/celtics ECFs.

Happy for the Wizards they got crapped on in another topic like two months ago. Whole roster was called trash.

P.S. If in need of a bench scorer Jamal Crawford is available free of charge!!

The Wiz have a great starting 5 but their bench is still one of the worst in the league. A couple of untimely injuries could send this going the other direction. Should be a dangerous playoff team however.

I find it funny how before the season started, nobody even talked about the Wizards and very few had them even making the playoffs. Now that they're doing well, people seem to be jumping all over them saying how good they are and even calling them the "second best team in the east". Bandwagon Wizards fans? Who woulda thought
