Has Lebron caught Michael Jeffrey Jordan

Is he there yet, if not, how much further. All I hear about now is people saying Lebron is better than Jordan. I'm not sure if they really believe it or not, but it just seems like the norm these days. Maybe it's just because Jordan has been retired for so long, but then again Lebron has caught up to Jordan in accolades.

Not right now....when he retires I think he'll be in the GOAT debate though with MJ, Wilt, Kareem, and Russ.

Not yet. But if they defeat this GSW team, oh boy. You know we'll have this conversation.

Well by the end of next season he will have played as many seasons as Jordan, had as many opportunities to make the playoffs. I think by then he will have caught Jordan unless he gets injured.

I can't say LeBron will ever clearly pass Jordan but he will catch him in terms of being debatable. I think he is already in the conversation but that conversation ends largely with Jordan, will cut to evens in a couple years I think.

Yes but the Jordan = GOAT idea is so entrenched that no one questions it seriously. Its more a statement of fact/law of nature than an opinion people are willing to adjust. I'm not the biggest Lebron fan (have honestly rooted against him in every finals) but he is the best basketball player to lace them up IMO, just didn't go 6-0 in the finals. I'm curious where you heard it because I haven't heard anyone say it outside of hot take artists setting up a non-story.

It would be hard for LeBron to catch Jordan almost impossible to catch Russell. Statswise to catch Kareem would be difficult. Jordan never lost a championship.

Yes. A few years ago really, but last year just cemented it.

Lebron is the more dominant player in a teamball era where it is significantly more difficult to dominate.

I don't think for a second this is coincidental as Hinkie is well educated and a fan of Classic British Lit

If lebron had half the skillset/jumpshot/moves of paul pierce on top of his own skill set, he'd be the best. As great as lebron is I'm so dissapointed he never developed a killer one on one reliable jumpshot like McGrady/Pierce/Kobe/. All he does is truck people. IDK HOW HE MANAGES TO SCORE SO MUCH WITH SUCH A BROKEN JUMPER... too damn strong lebron is. Idk how he is so great without all these assets..boggles my mind. Not the GOAT though when you miss clutch FT's.

He's the best basketball player I've ever seen play the game since I started watching (around Lakers 3peat). I doubt I'll see another player as great as LeBron. He's my number 1. What solidified it was him owning the Warriors offensively and defensively while leading both teams is PTS/REB/AST/STL/BLK. Against the team that's averaging 70 wins. *Absurd*. I think LeBron could do everything Jordan did if he had those chances. I doubt Jordan could pull off what LeBron did in the 2016 finals. But then again, Jordan would have beaten the Mavs in 2011 (I assume, but why bet against the concensus greatest basketball player of all time in this scenario?)

Concensus wise, I don't know if he'll take the crown and the throne from Michael Jordan. But his career still isn't over, so *shrug

I really don't care though as long as he's still playing so I can watch the greatest player in my generation.
