Chandler Parsons Struggles

Why has Parsons been so terrible this year? I know he has had injuries, but even last year he had solid numbers and very good percentages. This year his numbers and percentages are just awful. If he was playing at his expected level the Grizzlies might be a top 4 seed. Is he still just getting back into form after all his injuries or is his contract going to just be terrible for the next 3.5 years?

Did he have no pre-season?
Judge him next year after he has one. IF he has one

He was overrated yeah, but he has played only 25 games this year, most of them being hurt, or not at 100%. He still hasn't played 25 or more minutes in a game this season.
I am staying optimistic and hope that he will improve after the Allstar break, if he can be a productive player for the Grizzlies, watch out for them in the Playoffs!

He's more interested in being famous then being a basketball player, was a terrible decision by Memphis and said so at the time.

The Grizzlies have been taking a very careful approach with his rehab, so that he will be available for an eventual playoff run. He is not needed in February, March, or April. He currently has no real lift or lateral quickness. At this point he is only showing flashes of what might be or could be. There are no back to back games in the playoffs and it is hoped he will be up to around 30 minutes a game and a consistent contributor by then. Having said all that, as a fan if someone wants him on their team please call the Grizz front office.

Chandler Parsons is all about the lifestyle and not about the game. I felt at times he would sit out for minor injuries that he could have played through just so he could sit on the bench and show off his latest fashions. Parsons is more ego than substance. Too weak to play power forward too slow to play small forward.
He became overrated back in his Houston days when he was a bargain player at a minimum salary. He then got paid and quickly became disappointing.
That's just my two cents from his Mavs days.

Parson's is someone who takes pride in his "recruiting ability" aka being buds with famous basketball players, rubbing shoulders with the elite. Like others have said, he's about the lifestyle, the connects, the networks.
I don't see the mental toughness required to maximize the obvious talent and remaining athleticism he has left. Remember when Carlisle called him out for being out of shape, and he basically had an instagram meltdown or whatever? lol
The crazy thing is is he probably used to have it. He obviously worked his ass off to get to where he is, but it's like once he obtained a modicum of stardom, that drive and determination and character just evaporated.
Disclaimer: Of course, this is just from a casual observer and could be completely wrong.

Rockets fans tried to warn people back when he signed with Dallas that he was getting overpaid but now its crazy. They thought we were just bitter. The worse he is, the more he is making. He hasn't done anything to earn it, albeit mainly because of injury.

He cares more about the NBA lifestyle than the NBA competition. This guy loves being young, rich, famous, good looking, and charismatic. I don't blame him honestly, but I'd hate him if he were on my team. He's not motivated anymore.

This dude's ability to goad teams into thinking he's worth a max contract is incredible. He could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves.

This guy is one of the biggest con men the NBA has ever seen. Remarkable that he keeps getting offered substantial contracts.

It's weird - it is almost as if he needs working knees to play. Just crazy.

Parson's is playing about 5 minutes a game because the grizzlies are being extra careful.
It's hard to judge his play when he is not even on the court. If he gets to at least to 70 % I think the grizzlies will be playing the warriors in the West finals for sure he has show flashes so far especially when he plays with Gasol.

Parson's played poorly through his injuries last season in Dallas and then suddenly played lights out for the final 2 months. It seems whatever was bothering him is that much worse this season.
