I wasn't too impressed with the Thunder barely winning at home even when their role players outplayed Houstons role players. Have a feeling its going to be rockets in 5. Hope I'm wrong, really want this series to go the distance. Clearly game 4 is the key between a 5 or possibly 7 game series

Lol facts, I low key wanted the other 2 people who started playoff threads to concede and let Thabo run all of em.

Hello Brooklyn wrote:Funny how everyone (I'm sure you included ) was railing about how terrible Westbrook's cast was last game based on "one game."

It's a myth that has never been supported by the facts.

And now that we have a direct comparison, I see evidence to the contrary.

I was going to go back and add more to my post that quoted this post in the other thread but it got locked before I could.

For such a short post there's just so many things wrong.

One, the thing which you claim is a "myth" and "has never been supported by facts" has, in fact, been supported by facts based on an entire 82-game sample size. Virtually every on/off and +/- stat shows that Harden's/Houston's supporting cast was considerably better than OKCs. I mean the Rockets managed to still carry a positive net rating throughout the entire season with Harden on the bench and they were actually better defensively with Harden on the bench. Neither of those things are even kinda sorta a little bit true for Westbrook.

And how has this direct comparison led to you "seeing the contrary"? One of the biggest takeaways from game two was what happened to the Thunder at the end of the third quarter when Westbrook went to the bench.

Look, I understand if people think the whole "Westbrook's supporting sucks" has gotten way overblown or is greatly exaggerated. However, the fact still stands that his help is not good. There's plenty of evidence that supports that.

Look at how well OKC had to play to barely escape with a victory at home. If the Rockets would come out focused the games wouldn't be close.

James Harden nearly won the game at the buzzer. I predicted Rockets in 5 and I'm sticking with that.

A necessary win for the Thunder. Game 4 has to be treated like a 1 game elimination game for thunder. So keep driving it to the paint and get into fastbreak transition.

NBA investigating Patrick Beverly getting into it with a fan after game 3.

Everyone keeps saying OKC barely escaped but Houston also barely won at home too. Game 1 was an absolute anomaly as Houston destroyed on the boards. That won't happen again. I fully expect every game to be close from here on out.

I read Rockets requested the review.

Beverley looked like he was in control. I'm guessing something out of line was probably said.

Fans have a ticket but it doesn't excuse spewing of hateful nonsense. Again, in guessing here, but the Rockets requesting the review is the key fact here for me.

Agree. Beverley robbed OKC of what was their title year with what I thought was a cheap shot, so fans here don't like him and I couldn't care less about any potential punishments, but hopefully for the sake of the fans, if they find any wrongdoing they just fine the hell out of him. Suspensions are terrible in the playoffs and punish the fans as much or more than the player.

Looks like the fan in the beverly incident was the son of one of the owners - http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/245707/NBA-Reviewing-Incident-Between-Patrick-Beverley-Son-Of-Thunder-Minority-Owner

Drama!

You are not alone. I thought about deleting them but nah that's too harsh... I knew when pt2 comes along Thabo would get it done, and he did.

I think the rockets requested it because the fan was out of line so I don't think bet won't be facing anything

Supposedly, the rockets want the fan to get in trouble because the fan got out of line

Without footage with audio, I imagine nothing will come of the investigation. The video currently floating around doesn't tell us much.

Given how much abuse Patrick Beverly has taken in that arena, what that fan said must have been really bad to actually provoke him.

Idk if anyone got it, but earlier in the game, Beverley fell into the stands after a foul, and was held back from getting back onto the floor. Apperently that was the same fan from the confrontation afterwards

If the Rockets are going to be taken seriously, they'll win tomorrow and win in 5.

If not, we're in for a long series!

Precisely.
Most of us were wondering why the "fan" wasn't removed from the arena as is usually the case when they get involved with a player.
Finding out that it was an owner's son explains a lot.

Classless behavior regardless who you are.

Both teams played well enough to beat the other one. You can spin these kind of games any way you want. The fact of the matter is: The Thunder have cleaned up their defense and have taken the fight to the Rockets. With Russ on the floor, they've outplayed the Rockets in both of the last two games (+14 NetrtG in Game 2, +11 NetRtG in Game 3), which was not a given for this series.

We can't let up now and have got to keep fighting. We've played better each game and have given ourselves a chance.
