Al Horford - sneaky dirty?

Read on Twitter

So this comes after Markeiff Morris' injury in game 1 in which he landed on Horford's foot after making a jumpshot over him. Morris didn't return but hopefully he'll be back for game 2. Reason I'm posting this now is because I remember almost exactly 2 years ago when Wiz played the Hawks in the second round, Horford pulled the exact same **** against Beal in game 1 and Beal sprained his ankle.

See here

This happens a lot more than people think, especially this time of the season. Jalen Rose admitted a while back that he purposefully did the exact same thing against Kobe during the 2000 Finals in hoping to injure him (Kobe missed the next game). And Larry Bird even said couple years ago that Bill laimbeer was the master of this and would often try it on McHale and Parish.

After the Beal incident, I made a post about on here 2 years ago how I thought it was a dirty move and that anyone who's played basketball knows when a guy is purposefully trying to take their landing space to have them land awkwardly. No one was really buying it though. But then Horford drops the people's elbow on Dellavedova one round later:

And a Raps fan mentioned in the game thread how Horford is the guy that basically ended TJ Ford's career with this bush league play:

Thoughts? Only bring this up because Horford has never been looked as a dirty player. But I feel like this has happened too many times to keep calling it a coincidence...or am I reading too much into it?

Interesting sequence of videos. I never fingered him as being dirty (or fingered him at all for that matter), but it looks a bit aggressive. I give a generous pass for dirty play in the heat of the moment, because I anger easily.

Sorry bro....never, under any circumstances refer to fingering a guy

I was talking about this in the game thread, he is a low key dirty player, it's just that he seems like a decent good guy but I can't give him a pass. You can't put your feet under a jump shooter and he knows better. He should be fined or suspended, he has a history of this apparently.

I don't know whether he is a dirty player but what he did was a dirty move for sure. I definitely feel it's a suspend-able act, but for all the times when a player doesn't land on the defenders foot, do you still suspend the player? It's a slippery slope when you only suspend a player for that act when a player gets injured.
Why so serious?

Definitely dirty. He should be suspended.

I really hated Horford after he elbowed Dellavedova in the face and said "He has to learn it's a players union here" after the game. Grade A manipulative bitch, he knows what he's doing.

Holy **** I just remember that Horford play on TJ Ford. That basically ended his career at was the beginning of the end for the Bosh/TJ Ford Raptors era. Bad memories definitely....

And yes, Horford is in the sneaky dirty with Kobe with his elbows and also D-Wade.

I guess you gotta be dirty when you're as soft as he is. It's embarrassing what a **** rebounder he is.

We can't all play clean like Draymond ......just have to live with it I guess.

Maybe.

It doesn't SEEM calculated based on those clips, at least the ankle ones. The one on Ford looks like a hard foul gone wrong and Delly...well, Horford wouldn't be the first guy that's been provoked into doing something stupid by the former Cav.

But I can see why people would think it was too. Taking out Beal and now Markieff could give his team a big advantage so I wouldn't be surprised if that was more than a "happy" coincidence.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt though. These aren't overt like, say, Wade.

Yup. I've always hated this guy after what he did to TJ Ford. When he chased down Ford and hit him, the Hawks were already losing by a huge margin and it was nearing the end of the game so it was completely unnecessary and excessive. Then he proceeded to act like a fake tough guy and was looking to fight Sam Mitchell. Ford had a history of spine problems and it practically ended his tenure with the Raptors. He was out for a few months, Calderon took over and he was never the same when he came back that season.
