Ainge is taking Doncic, because, as you said, it has become a small ball league. He'll take a big if he has a second lotto pick.

Boston is for sure built for long term dominance . Zizic is a monster, could be a star .

Again, disaster trade because Ainge cannot be trusted with anything below a first pick. Terrible drafting record. What a **** time to be a Celtics fan. Sixers fans, congratulations, you just fleeced our team.

Lakers have no reason to tank so it will like be mid lottery

except you missed the part if the lakers pick doesn't land between 2-5 Boston gets sac unprotected pick the next year which we all know will more than likely be the worse team in the league.

in 2019. That's 2 years from now and the Kings aren't the Nets. They have some decent young players and will likely have another high pick next year. It could be a good pick but i think it's worth the risk.

Value of Fultz-Celtics is different from Fultz-Sixers. And I think the gap in value of Fultz-Celtics vs Josh Jackson-Celtics is minimal. But the value of Fultz-Sixers much higher than Jackson-Celtics.

That's the point of view of Ainge and BC.

I was curious what Boston would get to move down just a couple of spots and that's a deal you can't pass up even with
the restrictions.

Yes it's 2 spots but the likelihood of drafting an all star at 1 is significantly higher than 3rd. Could be the difference between Irving and Kanter.

I know but I don't think that will be the case in this years draft...In 2011 Kyrie was the clear cut number 1 pick
then a gap between Williams and Kanter.

A bit of revisionist history. Derrick Williams was very highly touted.
Fultz is the consensus number 1 this year. Since 2000, the only non-allstars picked number 1 were:
- Kwame
- Bargnani (very weak draft, no consensus)
- Oden (injuries, looked like a fantastic player)
- Bennett (again weak draft, awful pick by the Cavs)

By all accounts, this is not a weak draft and Fultz doesn't have much injury history.

Can someone explain to me how Markell Fultz isn't De'Angelo Russell? They look like the same exact player to me.

Celtics didn't Want Fultz cause they don't want to break up their backcourt. They decided to get a better fit with it, while getting compensating value with picks. Allows them to compete now while outsourcing their Process. I don't think it was a particularly good deal for them basketball wise but it makes sense from a business perspective.

Anyone else find it funny that the Sixers are using the Lakers pick to move past the Lakers?

That's terrible.

I'm not defending this move for Boston (undecided right now, time will tell), but in Ainge's defense there's literally just two top lottery picks in that entire list and one of them (Brown) looks pretty promising relative to his draft and the other (Smart) is a disappointment for the 6th pick but is still a solid NBA player with still the upside to become a good starter.

Fultz much better getting to the rim. Shown with around 30+% higher numbers in FTr and FTA per 40.

DLO is no slouch at OSU btw. Superstar numbers if u ask me.

Yes, but it's short sighted. Fultz is a decade younger than IT. The Celtics are in a position to draft young stars and slowly integrate them into their already good team and winning culture. Let Fultz come in and come off the bench at first. Then start him at the 2. Then in a couple years, bring IT off the bench in at Jamal Crawford role.

While you certainly can find stars anywhere in the draft, it's easiest to do it at number one. (Unless you are Portland) Even one pick lower it gets much harder. The last player picked number 2 to make an all star team was Durant. And that was ten years ago. The lower the picks the more likely you are finding complimentary guys instead of super stars.

Wow, lot of future value given up from Philly, better be certain Fultz is worth the price.

I hope so. Please stay healthy Philly, give me a reason to watch you on League Pass!

Yeah, hope they are patient with it. They should have the same next year unless they sign me I'd to an extension. Unless a bargain or star drops into their lap, save it for next year after you see how this team looks.

They are very similar to a degree. Both DAR and Fultz imposed their will and dominated college basketball; this caused them both to be bigly overrated.

DAR, however, is a scavenger and not an alpha hunter. This allows him to be a bust yet somewhat functional role player. Fultz will be boom or bust. Fultz has an alpha hunter game yet I don't think he is good enough for that game to translate. Fultz will not be able to be a solid role player. If he cannot TOTALLY impose his will I don't see him finding a niche. Best case is Fultz is Lillard. Most likely case is Fultz busts.

Jackson is the safest player in this draft by miles.
