Now SA, who on their team is pounding the rock inside? LMA? Dude gets eaten up by Draymond. Pau is done. This formula works in theory but no team has the personnel to put it into use.

I think NO has the potential to give GS a scare...but man KD is gonna kill them.

The Spurs...man...GS has been eaten up by Kawai...before he went down.

Lowry and Ibaka to the Spurs and see if that will entertain next year's playoff.

No one is going to beat Golden State that way, especially when you lack two way players like the Cavs.

So how do you do it?

1. SIZE, slowing down the pace, pounding the rock inside, crashing the boards, protecting the rim

and

2. THREE AND D PLAYERS.

The size is going to exploit Golden States biggest weakness, pounding them down low and cleaning the boards.

You're not going to outshoot GS from 3, and you're not going to completely shut them down either.

But what about a less extreme COMBO of the two? Hence the 3 and D players, which there are plenty of.

Who is in the best position to do this? San Antonio and New Orleans.

Point is, I don't think it's near impossible to beat them in the next 3-4 years like everyone says.

Every team is looking for huge 3 and D players. Golden State already has a bunch of them and they can all handle, pass and run the floor as well. That's why they're so insanely good

Your 3 and D formula isn't going to work unless those players are named Leonard, George, Butler and James.

without questions, sixers have the highest odds to beat GS in finals. With another 1st pick coming, instant-built superteam coming, watch out dubs

If we are making imaginary super teams to beat the Dubs, I would like to see CP3 and Marc Gasol on the Spurs. A frontline of LMA, Marc and Pau Gasol would be scary. The perimeter players of CP3, Danny Green, Kawhi and Jonathon Simmons has 3-point shooting, defense and playmaking.

You're never going to beat this GS team with discount versions of their player types. You have to do it with a totally different species of player. Someone like Joel Embiid who can destroy them inside but still shoot 3s. Who has the ability to read and react on defence.

I don't know if Simmons can play the 4 but Fultz, 3+D, 3+D, Simmons, Embiid is a good start against GSW in my eyes.

Size and 3 and d players is just the base. You still need a penetrating pg to put pressure on curry and warp gs defense, length in the wings, multiple guys who can handle and pass the rock etc.

Lol...ok buddy. I hope the Sixers do well,be cause they have some fun players, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. There's a higher probability most of them are injured for significant periods of time next year!

Fingers crossed they stay healthy. I love Mikey McConnell and Covington for awhile now, so I hope those guys stay too.

Warriors can lose to any team one night when the shots don't call see losses to Kings and Lakers.

You can't assemble the talent to beat them unless you have some future All NBA talent like Phi and Min.

Plus you need the cap space to lure free agents.

76ers trade for Melo who waives no trade for Phi. Bayless Henderson Okafor future pick

CP3 signs 35
Wade signs 15
Sign Thabo MLE

Sign what ever shooters available

The Spurs had it right; they just didn't have the actual guys to do it. Gasol doesn't like posting up, and LMA deflated once Kawhi was gone. People thinking Draymond shut Aldridge down are way off, though. Dray was screaming to get switched off LMA in game one. What got Aldridge was the Warriors doubling and then jumping passing lanes.

You need an aggressive big and smart complements. Give Randolph Aldridge's body, and there'd be no question whether a big can be effective. But then you need five guys on offense that know where they need to be to give good angles, set the right screens, hit the shots. The Spurs had decent starts in Games Three and Four because they are well coached, but without someone at even Tony's level, they weren't going to get enough perimeter points to distract from LMA.

Whether the Spurs can succeed in their plan next time around will come down to finding another perimeter, getting a big what has enough of Gasol and Dedmon so he can start, and most importantly, make a system that isn't so iso-dependent.

The Cavs actually beat them last year and did it going small.

The only thing the Cavs need to do to beat them again is get better. That's easier said than done, but get PG and we'll be talking.

Memphis has the starting 5 to play with the Warriors, but I don't think they have the bench to keep up.

For the 500 people in this thread that messed up on the spelling, it's Hayward.

In 2017 we're still talking about how teams need to post up more to beat golden state.

I guess Kerr is right, we're devolving.

1. They didn't have Durant

2. The likelihood of Curry, Igoudala, and the starting center all nursing serious injuries and Draymond getting suspended is pretty low

There's a sizeable gap between them and the Cavs and it will only get larger with several of Cleveland's key players in/approaching their mid 30's.

Probably need 5 All-NBA players to beat Golden State since they have 4. Get counting.
