Really hoping Utah re-signs Hill.

I think he's an upgrade over G.Hill, but if Hayward leaves it's all in shambles.

It's been reported several times, Utah has some deadline today to use 16M in capspace, so I'm expecting some deal for them today. I definitely wouldn't mind Rubio, he gives us the PG for our future as long as he can stay healthy, as he provides defense and great playmaking. His shooting is not much of a concern to me as he is very low volume anyways. It did seem though this year that he was improving his shooting a little too, and he's still young. I think Rubio is a better deal, and he's younger. If it leaves capspace to resign Ingles and we can keep Hayward, I'm psyched.

Not bad, plus we can have some great defensive reserves too. I wonder who we would be trading to Minnesota though.

So wait, are the Jazz absorbing Rubio into their cap space or are they sending someone out? Minnesota needs shooters so Burks makes sense.

Playmaking he is, but scoring Hill is way better. I'm not sure who's a better defender, I know that Rubio gets more steals, but Hill is a solid defender as well. Still Hill may get something like a 20M/year deal while Rubio is $14.5M and $14.8M the next two years.

Honestly as much as I like Burks, I don't think I mind losing him too much with Hood, Ingles, Mitchell (our rookie), and Exum. So we have lots of depth at SG, and unfortunately he's constantly hurt.

Could just be insurance if George Hill talks break down? Just absorb Rubio into cap space or send out Diaw for Rubio in unbalanced $$$, Wolves waived Diaw's money.
But Diaw + UTA 2018 1st and OKC 2018 1st, I'm sure MIN would be down, and it opens up cap space for them to go overpay Lowry or Milsap?
I think getting Rubio, necessarily wouldn't mean they wouldn't pay George Hill to return if the price was right. No doubt, UTA could get very expensive if they re-sign Hayward and bring back Hill/Ingles as well but I would think, Ingles goes if they pay Hill, 3-4 yr 45mil-75mil type deal?
And if Hayward leaves regardless if you tell him, well, we're gonna re-sign Hill at X # but only if you decide to come back, if you're leaving, then we're not gonna re-sign him and roll with Rubio as our starting PG. Could be worth the gamble in hedging their bets for next year.
Come at the king, you best not miss...

Our picks aren't even good. We are a top 4 team out West for the forseeable future, it's GS, SA, HOU, and UT, then the rest.

Re: Shams: Utah and Minnesota working on deal for Rubio
Wtf! Rubio is the ideal fit for the Wolves. I just don't understand why they're so eager to move him. They're gonna end up targeting Lowry or Hill or somebody and they'll sign somewhere else, leaving the Wolves with Tyus as their only guard. It's ridiculous. Rubio is the pass-first point guard they need in a system with three primary scorers.

Re: Shams: Utah and Minnesota working on deal for Rubio
Yeah, the Jazz are in a pickle with this one. It most likely means that Hill won't be back. We all know that Hayward wants the Jazz to sign Hill, but it they do, they may not have the $$$ to pay Ingles, who is Hayward's best friend on the Jazz, and an amazing glue guy for the team.
If the Jazz do end up signing Hill for pretty big $$$, and then Hayward chooses Boston, the Jazz front office would be so pissed!!! They likely go in another direction, without Hill, if Hayward leaves.
Glad I'm not the GM.

Shooting is what everyone wants now or at least some sort of two way players.

Are you that sure about Hayward?

Rubio is a two-way player though.

They don't need more shooting atm. Rubio is the perfect fit for that team. He can distribute the ball so well to those three guys (Towns, Wiggins, Butler). They don't need a scoring point guard.
