They could be devastating together, but I think people are underestimating the role their egos will play going forward.

Harden wants Paul to be a hard-ass. That's gonna input a mentality for Harden to play harder and smarter, especially on the defensive end.

All season you'll see a split personality between Harden and Paul, where Harden is always cool and calm while Paul is more critical and continues to push defense.

If these two were forced on each other, then maybe. They chose to play together which makes me expect they’ll try even harder to make it work. Realistically there won’t be a huge difference between teams 2-4 in the west. The goal of SAS, OKC and Houston is to avoid GS until the WCF. Houston fans biggest concern should be if CP can stay healthy.

It took me like 3 possessions to realize how foolish i was to think OKC would challenge them. Houston is gonna shoot people out of the gym.

Too many shooters. And they have everything you'd want in a modern squad

Rim protecting mobile big. Capela. check
3& D small ball 4. Ariza. Check
Shooters: Anderson, Gordon
Players to harass elite wings. Tucker, Mbah a Mute. Check

I saw Capela put the ball on the floor from 3 point line and blow by his man for a lay up :o If he gets any better than 'just rebound, run, and block shots' that could be a game changer

Wow, it's even better than I thought. Harden leads the league in scoring while Chris Paul leads the league in assists.

Yep. RightToCensor was saying that CP3 has been better defensively than Beverley was for H-Town, and he's right (I didn't have time to comment when I read this a few days ago, but it stuck in my mind). It's hard to believe, honestly, because Beverley was fantastic, but... turns out CP3 was getting that All-Defensive for damn good reason.

He's so dam smart on defense(pulled the chair on mozzy). Always picking people's pockets without putting the rest of the team in bad position(Bev did this alot, harden does it too& I hate it) Playing solid individual &, team d. VOCAL(absolutely love this).

Bev plays over-aggressively on D and sometimes has lapses on rotations. Paul is a lot more conserved, aware of rotations, and more of a floor general on both sides of the floor.

Early days but you have to like the returns.

Harden has come back an even better player than last year, and CP3 has been on a minutes restriction so far and has struggled to find his shot.

I love Pat Beverley but this is HOF PG we are talking about.

For years it was CP3's job to make his teammates' lives easier. Now Harden is making CP3's life easy. This duo is passing on another level.

People have to realise they talked BEFORE the trade about how the partnership would work.

Too easy for people to write it off saying two ball-dominant guys could never co-exist.

Ultimately they are both at a point in their careers where winning needs to take priority.

In all fairness, the Rockets have had quite an easy schedule so far, so it will be interesting to see them in some close games against good teams.

At their age, with their basketball iq, both without a ring. I doubt they put their ego on the rings dreams

4/7 3P

Chris Paul

Unbelievable games from both.
