Ok what lol

Can someone please explain to me the criteria for Team Africa?

Because you have:
Thabo Sefolosha - Born in Vevey, Switzerland
Victor Oladipo - Born and raised in Maryland
Clint Capela - Born in Switzerland and raised in France
Dennis Schroder- Born and raised in Germany

and I thought I saw something on Rotoworld about Kemba Walker possibly participating?? He's from NYC. These guys aren't African lol. Why not just get other players that are actually from Africa?

I think they went by ancestry. Like some of them left Africa because of turmoil (refugees) and were raised in other countries (Deng, Ntilikina, Giannis IIRC, etc).

Deng, yes. But Ntilikina and Giannis no. Ntilikina was born in Belgium and raised in France and Giannis was born in Athens. It's just weird to me to have it be called "Team Africa" but not have actual African players lol.

So is this going to be another All Star type of game? I'd love to see some of these players really pretend it's an actual game.

Man, I wish there was some concrete basketball development (and soccer) in Africa. So much untapped potential there.

Wow - lots of good players on both teams...didn't realize all those guys were involved - should be interesting. Olidipo seems the least African of the African team as he isn't even an international player, but oh well. Embiid not playing because of injury - :nonono:

These are where their parents/ancestry is from:

Dennis Schroder - Gambia
Clint Capela - Angola/Congo
Giannis Adetokunbo - Nigeria (Yoruba)
Victor Oladipo - Nigeria (Yoruba)
Frank Ntilikina - Rwanda
Thabo Sefolosha - South Africa
Kemba Walker - Antigua (But his parents were very afrocentric, and they named all of their kids afrocentric names)

Drummond was talking about some of the things he's seen over there and it's very sad. Obviously we already know the state some of these people have to live in over there but seeing it first hand has to be crushing. He was talking about at one point seeing a small child eating a stick.
