Mobile Only Game Tickets

Post#1 » by BadMofoPimp » Sat Aug 12, 2017 12:29 am

The Heat announced home games will be Mobile Only on their phones at the gate. Being I go to a few games last minute and pick up tickets via scalpers or via Stubhub, how will that affect my chances of getting tickets last minute or on the cheap? FYI. Last season one time, I showed up right at game time or a few minutes after and was able to snag 9th row behind the bench for $50 a seat for two tickets from a desperate scalper. Will I still be able to do that now?

The Miami Heat announced Thursday that fans who attend home games this upcoming season will only be able to get through the gate with tickets on their phones. In doing so, the team becomes the first in the NBA with mobile-only entry. Other teams, like the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Cleveland Cavaliers, have mobile-only ticketing, but they permit fans to use a driver’s license and credit card to get in.

Eh I don't like it. Even in 2017 I actually do know a couple of people who don't own smartphones.

I know the Cavs have something similar. The good thing with that is you can buy tickets directly from the owner and many times you get good deals. I got a ticket center court row 9 last year for $110 and thst was including fees and taxes.

These b*stards a few years ago made me miss an entire quarter b/c I only had my ticket on my phone and they would only accept paper copy. I had to walk more than a city block to go find a place to print, which charged me $10 per ticket.

Yeah - the Cavs system is great. I was nervous, but it worked well. Bought tickets about 3 days before. What I really liked is you were able to bid lower offers than the asking price, even making multiple bids at once and then when one person accepts the other bids are instantly withdrawn. We got great seats for a lot less than would have paid on StubHub for similar
seats (although nowhere near as good a deal as what you paid - dang that's a good price!)...
