I think it's either KD (Unguardable) or Kyrie...

According to Synergy Sports, his percentile ranking in isolation situations each season since he entered the league are: 95th, 94th, 68th, 95th, 80th, 95th.

Kyrie's consistency will continue, and for the third season in a row, he will be the best ISO player in the NBA. :)

KD is a better shooter but ISO basketball? if you actually "watch" basketball you should not have said any other name than Kyrie, ISO is literally what Kyrie does best, that's most of his game.

So because KD also happens to be an elite off ball player it completely offsets his isolation game?
KD just makes it look too easy. His footwork, handle, decision making, quickness, and length works against any type of defense.
His size up/face up game is the most dangerous in the league because of his size and agility. No one that tall should move the way he does, that's why I believe he edges Kyrie.

The best combo of volume is KD and Kyrie. I'd give the edge to KD because I do think he could probably exceed Kyrie in volume and efficiency when it comes to ISO. Dame and IT4 are also great, and so is CP3. But KD and Kyrie are the best by a good margin. According to that Vice article, Kyrie's been a 90th percentile or above in ISO situations every healthy season but one, and that was with an awful cavs team for the first three years.

Steph's a goon in ISO but Kyrie and KD are just on a different level in that department.

CJ McCollum deserves some mentions. His handle in ISO-situations is as good as anyone's.

ISO player or ISO scorer? Because Lebron is not in the top bunch of ISO scorers but by far the best ISO passer, though harden is pretty elite himself.

So yeah harden has to be the best ISO player and it's probably not close. Maybe Steph. Brons up there because he's still a good scorer and all time great ISO passer.

Melo is obviously not close at all to the top bunch of ISO players.

Curry might be a great Iso player once he has a 7 footer switching on him. Take away a screen I wouldn't have Curry in my top 20. Kyrie, Durant, and Lebron I would have far and away better than almost anyone in the league.

Harden spends most of the game on straight PNR. If he a great Iso player it is once he gets a switch. If Harden was in the conversation he could take Paul George and Kawhi straight up. Reality he needs help getting those players off him because he can't score on them one on one. Harden perhaps the best PNR player in the league but not the best Iso player. Durant, Lebron, and Kyrie you have to send multiple defenders on them or they will score the ball. Against any defender in the league.

NuggetsWY wrote:Just read an article that said Steph Curry might be the best ISO player currently in the NBA. Not sure how I feel about that, although I won't argue against it too much. ISO ball is very popular and there are a great many tremendous ISO players.

Carmelo Anthony still comes to mind as a tremendous ISO player - it is his greatest strength IMO. However, to be a truly great ISO player, that player should have some great handles. Isaiah Thomas springs to mind. Then there's Lowry & Wall & Irving & Lillard and so many other PGs - it seems to be very common today. Antetokounmpo seems to break the mold but like Durrant, as good as they are, I'm not convinced their handles are good enough to drive past a double team when the defense is serious at an end-of-game situation.

I'll probably get flamed for having left out many great players and the flames will probably get hotter when I say my top picks would include Harden & Westbrook, probably in that order. They seem to shrug off double teams and manage to get their shot whenever they want.

But because of assist-to-turnover, I'll take Curry.

I can think of a lot of reasons why the 2017 version of Melo isn't even close to the league's best ISO player anymore. Perhaps 5 years ago he was still on the short list.

Anyways, my vote would go to KD.
