Must be the hair. Tatum is clean cut, so is Kuzma. Josh Jackson has that mini fro going. Same thing with Winslow Justise for the Heat last year. Thought that he'd be better than he is. I don't know why, but to me at least it seems that players (especially young players) with puffy hair play less better than those with a nice short haircut

This was actually discussed in GB as far as I remember.

And Ball, Fox and Josh Jackson being among the worst shooters in this year's lottery just support this.

Donovan Mitchell picking it up. Might be a good candidate for All rookie 1st team.

Mitchell's last 3 games: 23 ppg/3.7 rpg/3.3 apg/1.7 spg on 52% fg and 35% 3-pt. Still taking some pretty difficult shots.

To make it as fair as possible I went by minutes played per game of the qualified rookies, otherwise I would have had to randomly decide which rookies to include and their placement.

I’ll use a different criteria in the future, but it’s so early in the season that playing time seems most relevant right now.

The season is so early, that almost anything can happen, but if you had to decided based on today and go by pure stats:

Ben Simmons 17.5 ppg 9 rpg 7 apg
Dennis Smith Jr 15.8 ppg 4 rpg 4.7 apg
Kyle Kuzma 14.9 ppg 6.8 rpg 14 apg
Jayson Tatum 14.0 ppg 5.7 rpg 1.5 apg

I think Lonzo Ball could end up being in the mix, but he will have to develop his shot first.

It should be noted
Simmons 21
Smith jr, 19
Kuzma, 22
Tatum, 19

#1 (Simmons) and #2 (Tatum) in the ROTY race are basically already handed out after 15 games. And yet there are so many other great rookies. This class, man.

Man that was embarrassing from Ball. His young teammates Kuzma and Ingram played well. His opponents that were drafted high in Simmons and Embiid played well and he laid an egg. I feel kind of bad since he's a good kid but damn.

If he didn't brick like, all his open shots, LAL could've won the game despite great showings from Embiid + Simmons lol.

I'm really concerned with Fultz, the #1 pick. Yes, Ball played a sh*ty game, but Fultz had 2 less points than him. So it tells you how bad Fultz was.

Meh, the missed open shots will never be the biggest concern to me from Ball.

It's the fact that he can only shoot 3's on the left side of the floor because he doesn't have any breakdown wiggle off the bounce. He can't shoot off the dribble, no floaters, can't go right, etc.

Those are HUGE RED FLAGS that continue to show themselves that I thought he had coming into the draft. This isn't an "aggression" / confidence issue with him. He'll have a HARD time being anything more than a starting level point guard unless some of those red flags turn to positives.
