What an absolute legend
Watch and learn younglings, watch and learn
Cousy & others weren't allowed to Palm the ball( carrying) , no hands on side of the ball ( carrying), hesitation dribbles( carrying), crossovers( carrying), etc....... They would laugh at modern players who would struggle to get the ball up court under old ball handling rules.

Even though the shot isn't pretty it looks like he had 3 ball range.

Not really accurate. There are clips of him dribbling with his left just in the video.

Somewhat true but most of the ball handlers from that era were extremely strong hand dominant. Oscar and West were the same. Most ball handlers today use both hands equally to the point that you can’t always tell which is their strong hand.

That's true but as has been mentioned, dribbling rules are also much more lenient now.

You just watched the first great PG in basketball history, and the first "flashy" player and probable creator of the behind-the-back dribble and the no-look pass. Every great PG, from Walt Frazier to Magic Johnson to John Stockton to Chris Paul to Stephen Curry, they all follow the blueprint that Cousy created.

One of the greatest ever. I’m actually surprised they have so much video

Derrick Rose wouldn't be in the middle of some desert smoking peyote and questioning life if he had half of those ball handling/passing skills (actually rose's handles are pretty good nevermind).

Yeah to everyone who thinks basketball is a sport that is trending down is ridiculous. The sport is trending up and for good reason.

Not even sure he'd be a bench player in today's league.

Great name. Horrible shooter.
Makes Lonzo Ball look like Ray Allen.
