There were a number of small forwards drafted in 2015 to much ado and hype, none less-so than Rondae Hollis-Jefferson who was quickly written off as a jumperless tweener without a true NBA position.
2015 Draft Order:
Stanley Jhnsn - #8
Justice WinSlow - #10
Kelly poOubre Jr. - #15
Sam Ekker - #18
Ustin Anderson - #21RondBAE Hollis-Jefferson - #23Fast forward three years and there is no debate.
None of the small forwards drafted before Rondae in 2015 are even in his class as a player.

Rondae's passion for the game and
will to win is extraordinary - he is the consummate pro, the ideal team player, a coach's dream, a player's best friend, an upstanding citizen and a contributor to the good of the community.

Having finally developed his mid-range jumper and refined his handles - Rondae has gone
SSJ while his rivals can't even challenge the Ginyu Force.

Discounting the slight hyperbolic feel of the topic, I’m certainly sold on Hollis-Jefferson. He’s improved every year and looks like he has finally become the leader on that team. The guy just plays hard and has outperformed his draft slot and then some. I hope he becomes a star.

I hear he's fond of turning water into wine too.

I was somewhat high on Rondae. I didn't think he was a sure thing by any stretch but I definitely saw him as an interesting prospect.
That said, outside of the last few games he hasn't been all that good. I don't think we should just ignore his entire body of work this season.
He's got positional flexibility and he's showing improved shooting. But he's also already 23 so it might not be accurate to project the meteoric rise people seem to expect.
I'm concerned that he hasn't shown he can be an impact defender and that's supposed to be his calling card. If he was an elite defender with a neutral offensive game I'd be more excited. Right now he strikes me more as a guy that will be slightly positive or negative on both ends.
Those other guys (besides Oubre) are straight trash. Being the best out of that group is a bit like being the best looking girl in Boston.

Been following Rondae since he was drafted. Always felt he was going to be a steal with his physical tools, drive, and defensive mentality.
Not to derail, but got the same vibe from OG from this past draft. Two underrated draft picks with good basketball IQ and the means to excel in a perimeter oriented, switch heavy game.
I see Rondae as a solid starter. Not a star or All Star player, but one of those glue guys you would love to have on your squad. One of the very best players on the Nets for sure.

He reminds me a lot of DeRozan in his highlights.

Of the bunch you mentioned I think Kelly Oubre has the potential to be the better player of the group. He is kinda playing well on a good team.

I've been keeping an eye on him throughout the season because I had him as one of my fantasy sleepers. Very impressed with him. He reminds me a lot of Gerald Wallace, but with a higher ceiling.

I never knew exactly what player Rondae was going to be in the NBA, and I watch him and still struggle to define what he is, but what was clear before he was drafted was that he plays hard and has a good feel for the game, and those 2 things will get you places, especially when you're athletic like he is.

Oubre is the best player of this bunch but jefferson is certainly the most improved.
He will have a solid career and he's lucky that he's on the nets just like all the youngsters there. They have the chance to showcase their skills without having limitations and pressure.
