Why is there so much hoopla surrounding what Paul George is going to do?

In all honesty, who cares? He isn't even a top 20 player. This isn't like a Jimmy Butler or Kyrie Irving. All this media angst over a guy that doesn't make a significant impact. Someone help me out here because I don't get it?

He is a top 20 player. And next year, settled at home, away from all the drama and uncertainty, he will be better than both Butler and Kyrie.

Twenty points and elite defense isnt a top 20 player... ok... Maybe the Lakers should go after Rubio.

You're not even a top 20 poster, who cares what you say

Nope.

Because he's the only big name who has a realistic chance of being moved in the next few weeks.

So who deserves more hoopla than Paul George?

First of all, the hoopla is all about the LA ties more than anything. And second of all, what I just said.

OKC's inability to make a serious chase at the upper half of the top 8 keeps it interesting and open. If OKC is @33-12 right now instead of 25-20, Lakers would've been less and less mentioned in any PG13 Trade & Free Agency talks.

No idea honestly. Been wondering that myself. Almost as head-scratching as the articles on the Knicks passing over that Mavs rookie, the Smith kid. Like, who cares?

I was about to come in here and say you're crazy for saying Butler is better than George. Then, I looked at the advanced stats and have to agree. PG just always looked good in Indiana because he was their crunch time hero. He'd be a good third option on a championship team, but wouldn't build a team around him. He's got to get out of OKC though.

Because it's a Lakers story, you think Lonzo would be talked about as much this year if Phoenix drafted him? If the Lakers suck right now, all you have to do is feed the delusion they are one star away from being showtime again.

Biggest fraud star in the league. A glorified Mike Scott.

can't really even counter this, maybe next season he'll shut up as he won't be the flavour of the month?

*Except for the fact that he never came through in crunch time.

Potential game changing free agent acquisition depending on where he lands. His current place of employment is temporary. OKC isn't getting past GSW/Houston.

Because ESPN needs something to talk about.

Any team expecting the addition of Paul George to get them over the hump is going to be extremely disappointed
