Straight up, who would you rather have if you're a rebuilding team?

I think you have to go with Booker because he's a much more established top scoring threat, and he has improved his efficiency and playmaking.

It will be interesting to revisit this in a year or two's time though. What appeals to me with Lavine, is that he's the more explosive athlete, and he's a really streamlined scorer that is really efficient with picking his scoring opportunities, as opposed to a more iso/dribble heavy volume scorer. For that reason I think Lavine could get his buckets whilst co-existing with other major options more effectively. Just an interesting consideration.

Also hard one to evaluate given Lavine played as a 3rd option his first few seasons, whilst Booker got the keys from the get go.

They're pretty similar to me, but I'm a homer so I'll say LaVine.

Booker. Lavine's ACL injury might affect his future career and he lost 1 year of growth as a player. Would easily do 1 for 1 swap Lavine for Booker at this point although it is hard to predict who will have the better future career.
If we were talking about pre ACL Lavine, easily Lavine over Booker.

The depressed Bucks fan in me would take the guy who hasn't torn his ACL. Lavine is a special talent though.

I get the ACL thing but he doesn't have a history of injuries and he's back to being super explosive. I would be concerned if he injured it recklessly but he's a fairly controlled player for the most part, just had a freak injury.

Jabari Parker or LaVine is a better question. Booker is an untradable asset

It's Booker for now but it could be a serious debate in a year or two, depending on how LaVine comes back.

So, according to RealGM, the Bulls are going to repeat the 90s in 2-3 seasons. Markannen-Dunn-Lavine will be Jordan-Pippen-Rodman at different positions, apparently.

Thanks Thibs!

You guys here are way too short sighted:

Devin Booker, star *offensive* player, ranks 459th among 471 players in Defensive RPM and 9th worst among all players in Defensive Points Saved.

Devin Booker is like a Michael Redd. And Michael Redds don't win jack in this league

As much as I'd love to punch him in the face it's definitely Booker

I looked it up, and Lavine ranked 441st in that metric last season.

Well if we're gonna go by last year's #'s, Lavine is a better offensive player. He outshot Booker from the field (45.9 to 42.3) and from 3 (38.7 to 36.3)
