I signed in just to check for this thread.

There's going to be a lot of Jalen Rose hate and vitriol, but this seems more reasonable than at first glance.

The Spurs had Duncan, Parker, and Manu who all bought in at an early stage due to early success, but Kawhi and even Aldridge are a part of a newer generation. They see the writing on the wall and for the last 20 years, it's been free agency and recruitment that have built the championship squads. Sure there are outliers, but that's been the main ingredient. Players give Pop all sorts of praise and credit, and Texas is a no income tax state, yet San Antonio has had trouble drawing in the big free agent fish. That may or may not mean anything, but it wouldn't surprise me if young players just aren't as awestruck and gung ho for the Spurs as reported.

Now Kawhi is signed for a few more years so this is much ado about nothing, but there have been some cracks in the Spurs armor the last few years.

Why does the Media always try to forces small market star to make it look like they hate the place and want to leave for the Lakers or Knicks. You see how they are trying to force a Marc Gasol trade its a joke. Paul George and KD was like the only guys they got right, now they feel fueled to create drama in all small to mid market teams.

Very hard to picture Kawhi in another uniform. Spurs have those black gray and white jerseys too. Makes it even harder to see the guy in color

Pop is the GOAT but he clearly **** up the Spurs contention and Kawhi shouldnt spend his prime in a treadmill.

would be such a great fit for us in Philly... this is the 'Harden' deal for us potentially, even though we could just maintain course as is... and continue building/growing 100% organically; but Kawhi is a proven commodity, and would be a perfect fit on the wing for us. Nonetheless, I wouldn't be surprised if this was more ploy than anything else... Pop is like the Belichick of the NBA (not cheating or any similar insinuation, I mean as far as being a mastermind).

I know a lot of people are going to blow this off, but wasn't there recently a report that Kawhi was unhappy with the way they've handled his injury issues this year?

Edit: Just watched this clip, and it's longer than the one I saw recently. Didn't know Kawhi had his uncle acting as his agent. Bad news for spurs fans. Players with family members giving them career advice are bad **** news.

They have the 6th best record in the league right now without Kawhi. A healthy spurs team is probably as good as anyone not named GS, and the dubs are not a fair measuring stick.

Let the Lebron nuthuggers start bringing up the Brooklyn pick and Isaiah Thomas for Kawhi proposals. If this is true it is sad quite honestly, Kawhi is showing a side I thought he never had he really is about to quit on the Spurs. He sees Tony is not good enough anymore and got demoted to the bench that might have to do with it.

Kawhi's impact on the court is second to none, he proved that in Game 1 of the West Finals last seasons. The Spurs need to speak to the dude since he barely talks and more then likely won't take the initiative. Murray is good enough to start at the point guard position and provide what Pop needs out of the position(shooting,slashing,good on ball and off ball defense, and play-making). The Spurs have an exceptional team around him, Bertans has broken out into more then just a role player on that team. If Kawhi does decide to leave Bertans can be their next franchise player.
