It's not about any issues internally. This is about not having any more setbacks. There's no re-injury right now. The focus is strengthening that left quad. It's really important because the quad is an injury that can come back and bite you. It's an injury you can get again and re-injure a lot easily, so it's about strengthening that quad and keeping Kawhi focused on getting back to that strength to help him into the NBA situations. That's the focus right now."

Why would ESPN try this with Kawhi of all people. Once fans realize how stupid of a story this was from ESPN they'll just lose more followers.

Not only this but there were no shortage of tmz-trash headlines with a degree of merit to discuss.

I had to spend 4 hours in the car today and the Leonard story ate up well over half of the SXM airtime, trade scenarios and all. Sad.

Perhaps it was blown out to divert attention from the very real dumpster fire in Cleveland.

I like how Jalen broke the story like he had a legitimate source yet ended it by asking some obvious questions he should know if his sources were legitimate.

Is it his quad? What's going on with his history? Was he misdiagnosed?

Jalen's claim that Kawhi "wants out" always seemed overstated to me. But we can read through the lines. Players want to win, want to feel like they're moving toward the goal of winning a championship. Much like Lillard having a meeting with Paul Allen, I'm sure Kawhi wants to be confident that the team is moving forward and right now he's not as confident as he would like to be. Jalen reports this in the most dramatic way possible which forces Kawhi's camp to issue denials. We've seen this before. Where there's smoke, there's usually fire but it doesn't at all mean that Kawhi "wants out".

What an embarrassment for ESPN, and the fact that it was their Golden Boy that broke this yesterday is even worse. You can tell it was BS the way it was phrased given that it made no sense.
