Yep...

Just came to this thread to say another MVP performance by LeBron tonight against the team w/ the best record in the East - which btw just recently ended the 17 game win streak of the team w/ the best record In the NBA. Go LeBron!

LeBron over AD now.
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

LeBron should be ahead of Harden.
Guys had to carry a team full of role players (excluding Love who has missed a bunch of games) to the third seed in an Eastern conference that has been pretty darn competitive this season.
Harden on the other hand has a loaded team. Not taking anything away from him tho, the guy has been a beast as well. But just look at LeBrons numbers. Absolutely absurd.

Lebron is just so dominant when motivated, it's just unreal what this guy can do. Harden has all the trickery but Lebron just cements his will on every possession, you know what he's gonna do but can you stop him?

Welcome to Hardens world for the last 4 years. Plus he never had a Kevin love. Despite the garbage he was operating with we were carried to the playoffs off hardens back. Harden was operating with scrubs like Jeremy Lin and Patrick Beverley’s of the world.

These continuous immaculate performances by Bron are putting him neck and neck with Harden right now. What he is doing is just incredible. Not to mention the weight he carries for his team. Talk about putting the squad on his back.

Like when Harden took a bunch of scrubs to #2 in the WC in 2015 when the West was extremely competitive... don't remember that getting Harden the trophy...

Harden is clearly ahead of LeBron. LeBron was all but eliminated from the competition when he stopped trying all of January. Also as great as he's been offensively this season, he only gives effort on defense for very rare stretches and has been a clear negative on that end overall. I understand that he does it to conserve energy for the playoffs, but when it comes to MVP voting, a regular season award, that doesn't matter.

Prime example this guy:

https://www.cbssports.com/live/bill-updates-his-nba-mvp-outlook/497489/

He's a former voter who, although he begrudgingly acknowledges Harden should be at the top of everyone's MVP list, openly admits that if he had a vote he would probably vote Lebron just to be contrarian. :noway:

These are the things that make it hard to respect the current voting process.

It would make the MVP voting a total sham.
By the numbers, Harden is having a better regular season than Kobe Bryant ever had. Actually, he's looked better from ages 25-28 than Kobe. Blows him away in efficiency.

Yea but Kobe was taking n making difficult shots on purpose like he was taking ridiculously hard shots n making them. That was his thing, the harder the shot the more he attempts it. If he would of actually focus on taking the easiest shot available his FG% would of been much better

Thats on Kobe. Much like Westbrooks bad shot selection and Dwight Howard's wackass post game. It's a negative for him. Think if every player on a team had that mindset. Harden plays a smarter game.

I’d have ad slightly ahead of lebron for second at this point as he is carrying his team on both sides. He’s moved into top 3 for DPOY imo.

Love missed 2 more Games than CP3

But nobody will remember this. And you know why? Because Love sitting out just happened, and CP sitting out happened a couple of months ago. Whatever happened lately, matters 10x more and that's how this award works.

We only pay attention to the final 2 months national TV "statement games", instead of reviewing the season as a whole body of work. We ignore consistency, we value last impressions. Every time there is a big national TV game, is the time I normally refrain myself from posting something kneejerk here like "wow what a performance from XXX I think he is firmly 2nd and have a shot at 1st place". I didn't do it right after Harden's 60pt triple double game, because that's just one game in the middle of the season. MVP is not won through a 60pt triple double game.

Right before the half time Lebron had a couple of plays where he completely gave up on defense. Why didn't LoveMyRaps come to this thread and post "Lebron should be ahead of Harden" at that time? Because the moment didn't feel right. It only feels right after the Cavs beat the Raptors. It only feels right to post here after LeBron leads the team to a monumental comeback and eventually setup Love for the game winning 3.

Unfortunately it only takes one kneejerk poster like LoveMyRaps to post here to bring out a bunch of Rockets fans to defend their guy, some might look insecure. Nothing to feel insecure about. The award is stonewall Harden's, even if Harden sits out every game from now and Lebron wins out the season averaging 50/15/15. There is really nothing to talk about here on who wins this award.

Btw, I still have AD above Lebron for #2, simply because he never had a month of 'give up basketball' and Lebron is still taking plays off to conserve energy which sets a bad example and partially contributed to a league bottom 3 defense, while AD is flatout leaving everything on the court. We need to reward the hard working guys who has been consistent over the course of the season.
