10. DRAYMOND GREEN: $514,644

Draymond Green has been raising his career high in Technical Fouls every year for the past 3 years (2016: 12 techs, 2017: 14 techs, 2018: 15 techs). Talk about player progression!

A big chunk of Draymond's money lost comes from his 1 game suspension which cost him $129,644 and cost me a piece of my soul.

9. OJ MAYO: $568,836

OJ lost $405,109 from his 10 game suspension because he got caught with the devils lettuce. Reagan was right when he said Marijuana is dangerous, just having some in your car can cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars.

8. TY LAWSON: $586,394

Ty Lawson is the only player on this list with ZERO technical fouls. Don't drink and drive, kids.

7. JR SMITH: $723,109

JR gets the award for best reason to get fined by the NBA: 'Posting a picture of a scantily clad woman on his Twitter account' -$25,000.

6. AL JEFFERSON: $768,812

On the outside he looks like a teddy bear, but on the inside -- hes a basketball player that likes to smoke weed from time to time.

5. RAJON RONDO: $788,229

Rondo has been fined 4 times for confronting, touching, or verbally abusing a referee. No quip here just thought it was interesting.

4. BLAKE GRIFFIN: $1,034,442

Our first million dollar donor! Tell us Blake, what made you punch that equipment manager?

"I was just thinking of the children."

3. DEMARCUS COUSINS: $1,106,890

They don't call him an emotional lesbian for nothing, this guy is a giver.

2. DWIGHT HOWARD: $1,179,538

Dwight, did you do it for the children as well?

"What children?"

1. JOAKIM NOAH: $3,362,364

Noah lost 20 games of pay due to his drug violation suspension. Due to his outrageous contract, this came out to $3,174,364. This should have been a wake-up call for the Knicks to be careful giving out such big contracts to role players. They gave Tim Hardaway Jr 4yrs/$71M a few months later.

SPECIAL BONUS PRIZE!

Lets give it up for the player (active/inactive) who has lost the most money due to fines & suspensions in NBA History:

GILBERT ARENAS: $4,762,376

Says Gilbert, "I'm truly honored to receive this award. Whenever you get the chance to make history, I always say to just give it your best shot."

Edit: Turns out METTA WORLD PEACE is the True GOAT in money lost, with his grand total coming up to $5,478,277.

I'm curious what the list looks like with only fines and no suspensions. If you're gonna include lost pay from suspension there is zero point in even including fine money because it's probably less than 1% of the total. It's like adding in how much gas money they save because they don't have to drive to the game.

I did a little searching and wasn't able to find any rule against posting a woman in a thong on your twitter.

I'm sure there is some off-court conduct rule they are going off of, but it seems like an over-reach of power in my opinion.

As inappropriate as it may be, JR should be able to post a woman in a thong on his own time and Twitter without being fined by the NBA.

I can't stand J.R. Smith, but the twitter thing is ridiculous. Players should be allowed to post whatever the hell they want on their personal twitter accounts. Seems like they want players to go the route of WWE and make "character" accounts. Every post will then talk about how "both teams played hard" and"I want to stay with this team for the rest of my career".

The JR one is ridiculous. I'm honestly waiting for the day the NBA gets sued by a player big time. I'm thinking probably the likely scenario is a player being suspended for a fight but was acting in self defense would probably be a likely possibility.

It was basically a picture of a butt because her thong was razor thin. But as others have mentioned, JR should have freedom of expression here

I'm not a fan of fining players for social media use either, but plenty of people have been disciplined or fired for their social media habits in all sorts of professions. If you're seen as a representative of a company they want you to represent their brand well. This isn't a particularly unique or cruel thing that the NBA did is all I'm saying.

I think it's ridiculous in any aspect. Employers need to realize there is a boundary between work life and a personal life. Maybe if all these companies would stop acting like they're perfect the issue wouldn't be so bad. I guess in today's world where everyone gets offended by everything they have to keep that sort of stance. It's a problem with today's society and I think it's pathetic.

I think the snowflake society we live in is pathetic as well but I also recognize the reality of social media is that if you put something out there for everyone to see, everyone will see it.
