Draymond’s mom not happy about KD’s iso’s “SWING THE BALL”

While I don’t disagree with her, always funny to see the overreactions every time the Warriors lose. You’d think this team was down 0-2 heading back to the Bay the way people are carrying on.

To her point though, I think there needs to be something said about the Warriors offense through the first two games and especially game 2. While he’s been efficient, it’s going against the warriors formula that has wrecked teams for the past 4 years. Curry might be injured (and the Rox attacking him on D every possession is definitely affecting his offense) but the warriors game plan just doesn’t work without him being the focal point of the offense. Watching game 2, I couldn’t help but think KD’s iso’s are playing right into D’Antoni’s hands...neutralize Steph and Klay, help off draymond or Iggy/Looney when KD gets to the rim, or live with him taking midrange jumpers all game while we trade 2s for 3s on the other end.

Thoughts?

Oh my God if KD is what ruins the Warriors after ruining the league I'm not sure how many burner accounts it'll take for him to turn the narrative around on this one

She is 100% right. KD is getting his own while the rest of the team doesnt get the chance to get into rhythm. As a GS fan Im at the point where I really wouldnt mind seeing him walk this summer. Ya we wouldnt be as good but his fall back when things get tough is to ISO and that is not what GS is all about.

From what I saw it seemed they were running plays for KD because the rest of the team was struggling. KD doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to play much outside of what the coaches/team wants him to do...He only took 22 shots anyway, very efficiently 'getting his own.' He did his job: the others simply missed shots all night, and their defense (especially Steph) was not as good as it can be.

On paper you wouldn't be as good, but if Steph is healthy and the Warriors got back to playing how they played pre-KD, the cohesiveness of the team would be much better. KD spent the first nine years of his career playing ISO ball and old habits are hard to break. He's an all-time great at ISO ball and has proven he's in rarified air as a scorer. But it definitely takes away from what made the Steph Curry Warriors so great pre-KD.

Ya no doubt we lose out on individual talent. But ya like you said old habits die hard and you can tell those habits creep up when things get a little tough. Just as a GS fan, I prefer the offense running through Curry (I actually wish we ran it through Curry more than we did 2 years ago) over running it through KD. Dont get me wrong, it is still very successful, just not as fun as a fan. I loved the free flowing offense when it ran through Curry.

So if Durant played like a role-player in Game 2 it would have made Curry shoot a lot better and Golden State would have won?

So kds isos were the reason they gave up 68 points to ariza tucker and Gordon? Got it. You cant run a free flowing offense when nobody else is making shots

My employer would get very upset w/ me if my parent or another close family member criticized my coworker/company online like that.

He needs to control his mom from saying things like that regardless of its true or not. We freak out when LaVar Ball does this stuff, same should apply for Draymond’s mom.

She is wrong. KD played perfectly in both Game 1 and 2.

Kd is not LeBron or Larry Bird when it comes to playmaking but he doesn't make many stupid decisions on the court.

given the way KD has been shooting, he played the right way in both games.

Yeah he's ruining them by helping them win their second ring in 3 years and having them tied in the western conference finals against a great team. I know folks here really want to see KD fail, but sorry this isn't your moment for that. The guy is helping his team win. They split the first two games with Curry hobbled. Honestly how can anyone complain about that is beyond me

lol this is so unfair to put blame on KD...if not for KD's so called isos, Warriors would have lost Game1. This Warriors team's ceiling without KD isn't too high(I mean they are definitely beatable without KD)..KD is the one who elevates them to near invincible team. btw,Why are some people acting like splitting road games against a 65 win team is end of the world?

I don’t understand why NBA players allow their parents to do stuff like this but then again I don’t understand why NBA players need burner accounts.
