Is this just a teammate staying positive, or could this be the case, Kawhi really wanting to stay? Maybe I'm looking too far into it, but I found it interesting that Danny came straight out and said that.

I think Kawhi on some level definitely wants to stay. I think his inner circle of advisers though have prob told him he should only stay if they offer a super max. Getting a supermax might be part of why he wants to stay in SA. He has to at least give some indication that he wants to be a Spur in order to get that offer imo.

I'm actually starting to think that maybe the friction might come from the Spurs not being completely willing to give him the max. If you look back the Spurs have been frugal if you look back at the pay cuts Timmy, Parker and Manu had to take.
