The max for both players will be different

Green if qualifies for the supermax may be 60 million more if he is DPOY.


I believe Thompson will get less than the max.

They dont have a defense without Draymond. Klay Thompson is the 3rd best player on that team and that is just unfair. He could be the primary or secondary option almost anywhere else.

Salaries being equal I'll take Klay. 2016 Green was amazing given that he was shooting near 40% on 3's, but that seems to be an outlier or he's regressed.

I don't think it's impossible to retain an elite defense without Dray. Replacing the best 3rd option in the game seems way more difficult especially when he's ready to make sacrifices for the team

If you're looking at team needs, it has to be Draymond. Klay is a good player and a great fit for the team, but they would have possibly one of the worst front courts in the league if they let Draymond go. They already have Curry and Durant to do the scoring. They need Green's interior defense and passing ability.

My heart says klay, but my head says draymond.

Klay cause he has hard to replace skills on both ends of the court. Draymond sucks on offense - he only is able to score the measly amount that he does cause defenses don’t guard him.

I'm stunned that so many people are picking Draymond.. no one seems to mind that he'll be 30 years old with a lot of tread on the tires? Klay goes out of his way to avoid contact and will play well into his 30s (theoretically).

Klay. No klay=curry having to defend the top guard on the opposing team EVERY night. Wouldnt suit well.

He showed flashes during the regular season, but as of right now I wouldn't even consider him half the player that Draymond is.

Klay is the superior player but Draymond's skillset is harder to replace on the warriors.

Klay always shows up in the biggest moments and the Warriors would've been screwed without his game 6 performance in the WCF this year and in game 6 of the WCF 2 years ago. He's underrated while Draymond is overrated and benefits heavily from getting to play alongside Steph/Klay/KD.

I'd probably lean towards Klay but wouldn't fault someone for taking Draymond. Doesn't help that he's looking for a supermax.

Klay Thompson obvs. Hustle, motor, speed, and athleticism are prime factors in Draymond Green's success. Those will all tail off in his 30's significantly.

Thompson bail them out so many times when both Curry and Durant struggled. Curry do have trouble knocking down shot when under pressure.

draymond couldnt hit the broad side of a barn shooting this postseason, when steph went down guess who was getting those buckets
Klay "i rock a wierd shoe brand" Thompson, Draymonds loud flamboyant over the top shenanigan like outbursts after a call goes against him I bet wouldnt be missed

KLAY is a machine who works for you forever. Draymond is ticking bomb that can destroy others, but yourselves too...

Dray. Without Klay they might not be an all time great offensive level team anymore, but they'd still be up at the top in the league. They'd fall a lot more defensively, though, if they lost Dray.

Dray is the better and way more important player now I think, but I expect him to age far worse than Klay. Because of that alone I would rather pay Klay.

Green.

Klay is redundant with Curry and Durant.

They have a guy named Kevin Durant who can command defensive attention too.
