They smoked you 4-1 without Kyrie and Hayward.

You're not near them at this moment.

LeBron going to LA if anything increases the pressure on LA to do something so that LeBron doesn't waste an entire year of his 4 year deal to then maybe have Kawhi join next Summer... SA didn't lose any more leverage because LeBron signed in LA. They lost leverage because apparently Kawhi is a D-Bag just like the several other D-Bag players that held their teams for ransom to force trades in the past.

The spurs probably like the rest of us thought the lakers would need to add another star to get Lebron. Thats the leverage

Now thats no longer a factor and KL still wants out and is still aggressively suggesting its Lakers or bust. Leverage gone.

And that makes sense, but with or without LeBron, the Lakers arent doing anything unless they successfully surround him with stars. I don’t think SA lost leverage per se. LA got a Win today with the signing, but even LA fans know it means nothing without two more stars

We shall see. It's now a two horse race with Celtics in the lead, I agree on that. Have to see how much Fultz moves the needle as does Smith. The Sixers D should be much better equipped to defend the Celtics wings. If Embiid loses 15 lbs and actually gets in shape in should be a huge plus too. Should be fun, but I agree Celtics are in front and have that Kings pick to boot.

I mean, the Celtics manhandled the Sixers last year without their 2 best players so...

This is true and a team might take that chance BUT.

PG13 never took the hardline stance KL is taking right now. He made it known it was his preference to end up in LA but this is taking it up a notch with KL telling teams not to trade for him.

I haven't seen anything about Kawhi or his camp telling teams not to trade for him. Just reports that he won't resign anywhere but LA, same as was said about George last year.

That's all well and good, the sit out the year stuff is clearly posturing or someone just speculating.

the fact is he wouldn't have to sit out. All he has to do is be a disruption or claim injury. What team wants a disgruntled star showing up, distracting everyone else and collecting a check and not contributing anything?

I know contracts don't mean much to these players but i don't think Kawhi's team would even try that. That is fan suggestion only. Stephen A is the only dummy parroting that silliness.

Meh, after Game 1 we actually outscored the Celtics. The 'got smoked' narrative has been played out by Boston fans but it was a blow for blow series where unfortunately we let 3 games slide through our finger tips. A healthy/rejuvenated Fultz will help, and never underestimate the impact of a young core crowing together.

Philly and Boston are plenty good enough, and the Lakers around LeBron weak enough, that there's absolutely no guarantee Kawhi bolts there next year.

If you're telling me Ingram, Lonzo and Kuzma are off the table what in the world is LA giving up to get him? Boston or Philly can beat an offer including one of those (maybe not Ingram) without parting with an asset that would require a commitment to resign from Leonard. If comparable offers come in from all three does anyone really think LA gets him over the other two? Does LeBron really want to waste a year in his mid thirties playing chicken, especially with the way PG just reupped in OKC after being a "lock for LA" just last year? Sure it's not a great situation for SAS, but anyone who thinks this is some slam dunk for the Lakers and that they have all the leverage is really overestimating LA's position here.

Well PG only got Victor and Sabonis so by that rate add any injury concerns. That’s Ingram, Hart, and 2 first and for the 76ers Covington, Smith, and 2 firsts or one.

Leonard before the injury was a tier above PG, and the way people are talking Ingram is being withheld and Deng has to come back too. If LA offers something legit that's one thing, but they're not getting Kawhi for scraps and Dengs contract. Philly or Boston beats that to take a shot at keeping him past this season, and judging by rosters it's a pretty good shot imo. Leonard makes us legit contenders if everyone's healthy and Boston are contenders already without him.

Well claiming injury after his group declared him "100% healthy" would look highly suspicious and even worse than this situation already does. It could get messier:

Just dumb to go the nuclear option. It's in his best interest to show teams exactly where his game is. You know, just be a professional and honour the contract he signed.

If Kawhi would sit next season without a reason. League should just ban him from the league or put his contract on hold. League shouldn't allow players to blackmail teams on this level. Or atleast teams should be able to sue players and as long the case is going on the court the player is not allowed to play. In NHL player once refused to play in a team and instead bolted to Russia. His contract was put on hold, so he was allowed to return if he went back to his old team to play remaining of his contract. Players have power, but so does the league and at some point league should start fighting back. I don't think NBAPA does want Kawhi to sit out. They know it will be dirty and on that fight there will be no winners. Players will lose as much as owners.

Just hope the 76ers don’t keep the same energy and over price it. Negotiations should be played as the victim and no confidence he re-signs.

Sorry Lebron seems to be pushing this. He doesn't want another year of what's left of the backend of his prime to not compete. Pop isn't the one though. I thought Pop would hold out until he saw what the team would look like. Pop probably thinks he could beat this team right now with his guys even without Kawhi. This could get ugly because i can see him being more motivated than ever to go at this team.
