Didn't Duke suspend a player for that same type of play?
Isn't it similar to putting your feet under a jump shooter as he's landing?
It's just not a basketball play and there's no room for that sort of play.

In real time it didn't look bad. But in the slo mo replay it definitely appeared to be a purposeful kick. His foot travels beyond what you'd expect if he was just stepping.
