Stephen A. Smith said this morning on his simulcast, ESPN Radio’s weekday The Stephen A. Smith Show that “Sources” have told him that the Celtics have offered Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown for Anthony Davis.

Impossible. Cant trade for AD due to Rose Rule. Kyrie would have to be included.

Going to take more than that.

But entirely the right move from the Celtics.

Go big, or go home. Trade the youth for win now, or vice versa.

Given that Boston cannot legally trade for AD due to the fact that they already traded for a Rose Rule player in Kyrie [and thus are blocked from acquiring another while Kyrie completes that contract while on the team], my sources say he’s full of ****.

It can be done in the Offseason because Irving would be off his deal/extension. Circumventing it. Then depending on what they have left, then can sign him back. Horford would likely be gone tho.

Last year would have been the ideal time to make that move for the Celtics. I'm not sure the Pel's wouldn't want more given the situation this year with both.

The same guy that predicted Hunter Henry versus Derrick Johnson would be one of last weeks key matchups. Very credible source.

Remember that AD only as 1.5 seasons left on his contract, so even though he's a top 5-7 player, the offers won't exactly be reflective of that.

I still think it would take more than Brown and Tatum; given how hard Brown's slumped this season.

This just doesnt make sense. Not the doing whatever it takes to get AD with Kyrie part, but its just not a possible move right now. It literally cant be done because of Kyrie's and AD's contracts. It has to wait till the end of the season to make this move. So the trade cant go down right now, what is the point of offering a trade that cant take place for like 6 months.

First of all its not like theyre going to have a gentlemens agreement and say okay you accepted the deal, hang onto him for the 6 months and dont make any other deals. Second, why risk even putting this out there right now when you know you cant get a return automatically and a great chance of alienating two of your key players during a season youre trying to make the finals.

Im sure Stephen A's sources (if he even has them for this situation) probably just said Boston will be willing to offer those two once AD becomes available. Stephen A then probably took that and threw out those two were offered so he could make some news.

They'll have to give up more than that,,, but even that is more than what the lakers probably wants to offer. Honestly,,, I don't think ingram should be happy playing with Lebron, and I can't see how magic will sit on ingram and LeBron for 4 years

This is actually what Im thinking as well. I have a feeling LA doesnt want to wait till the summer where Boston will be eligible to make a trade for AD. I think all it will take is for the Pelicans to hit one rough patch where they begin to fall away from the top 12 teams and I think LA would try to jump all over that by offering everything they have not named LeBron.
