Class act guy. But is he the worst player to ever get a jersey retired?

I love it. I've been saying for awhile now that Jeff Foster's jersey should be retired by the Pacers.

Of the same ilk as Nick Collison.

Eh I mean if he was meaningful to the team I get it. Jersey retirements are more about the significance to the team than overall performance. I’m sure the Heat will do the same thing with Haslem. No issue with me really

Agreed, class act guy but man, they just retire anyone's numbeer nowadays. I hate the whole retiring number thing btw, why cant you just retire the jersey but keep the number in play? Its annoying watching the Celtics with everyone wearing awful numbers.

Expect Haslem in Miami as well. These franchise lifers who were at times quality rotation players.

Yeah I like it. A lot better than retiring some mercenary player who was only there a few years even if they were really successful.

It is bad enough having a large portion of your fanbase obnoxiously worshipping guys like TJ McConnell just because they are white. Don't need them getting their numbers retired for it too.

Very insightful.

I think he was the only player to start their career with the franchise (in Seattle) and retire with them. Makes sense to retire his jersey in that sense. I always liked watching him play because he is the epitome of "does all the little things."

And at the time of the move he was the only Sonics player to publicly state that he was against it, so I always respected him for that.

I have always found offensive that the Lakers never retired number 21.
