I would really hope a top rookie really believes this. Whether it will happen is a totally different story, but he does need to have that confidence until it is definitively proven otherwise.

I mean, its possible, he certainly hasn't been bad. Obviously it looks like Luka could be a superstar, but at the same time, he could also stagnate like Tyreke all the same as well and Young could really become the next Steph Curry, at this stage you can't say so this was the right thing i think to say in the meantime.

I think he is the next Isiah Thomas with better passing and deep range on his shot. I just want him to improve his shot selection moving forward and his accuracy in all ranges outside of the paint. In the paint, he is already pretty accurate for his size.
Defensively, off the ball is where I want to see improvements. His on ball defense has improved although he can be more refined with experience and learning how the refs calls the games. VC has been a tremendous influence on him overall.

He just doesn't have the body or physique to ever not be a liability on D. Coupled with not being an elite shooter, I just don't see his ceiling as more than a better passing Lou Williams or better passing but can't get to the line as well I.T. That's a good player...a borderline all-star. But Luka has an MVP ceiling. I'll bet anyone on this forum, at 10 to 1 odds, Trae never wins an MVP.

You’d think 5-10 years passed reading this thread. Give it time trae May very well turn out to be better or he will have to eat his words.
