The narrative that the Lakers were a playoff team when Bron is healthy is slowly fading....

There's no chance the Lakers are a top 5 seed in the East this year, I even question if they would be ahead of the Nets. I'd probably slot them in at seven.

I had the Lakers at 38-43 wins when the season started. That never changed, even after the GSW game on XMAS. They would have faltered had he never got injured.

They're not a well constructed team.

4th in the West with one of the easiest schedules in the league in the beginning. Now they are playing the tougher part of their schedule and they are not doing well.

As of right now, looks like they not only get to keep their young stars, but they are probably getting a lottery pick to.

Not a chance. Boston, Tor, Mil, Philly are all easier better. I'd argue that BRK is better as well.

Playoff mode still includes another gear that we will be seeing soon.

This just proves that Lonzo Ball is highly underrated. The scoring isn't all there yet, but the intangibles such as defense and setting guys up, is probably the difference between the Lakers making and not making the playoffs.
