But he supposedly said Ja Morant was the best player in the 2019 NBA Draft according to this thread.

Eh, as told by Jeff Garland (and who knows when exactly West told him this). Quite possible West thought Morant was the best prospect five weeks ago and changed his mind after seeing more of Zion.

Hopefully the basketball gods will give us the #1 pick.

I’ll be the guy that says he’ll never be a top 15 player ever. Much more likely scenario than some of the takes on him.

nonsense. barring injury it's a near lock he's that good.

For the love of God just stop, he hasn't played a minute in the NBA and it's absolutely ridiculous to suggest he's a "near lock" to be a top 15 player ever.

Just stop.

His talent + his passion for the game + his improvement in his jumper showing he has high work ethic are enough for me, you compare him with Ben Simmons who doesn't give a **** about improving and it is night and day. I say he will be top 15, he is that good.
Great takes since 2024-04-20

That's great but that's not how it works and to say he's anything near a lock is ridiculous.

The Williamson hype is a bit worrying, I feel bad for the guy when people realise he isn't the freaking GOAT one year into his career. Also considering Jordan got passed up twice it's really not like that considering Williamson is a near consensus top pick. Which in itself should tell you that the Jordans of the world aren't necessarily that obvious.

He probably means in the sense that he should be the best player in the draft, not that he's comparable to Jordan as a player.

Dirk and KG has no argument over kobe in the 2000s, stop it. Multiple publications has Kobe as the player of the 2000s, not only do his stats back it up but also his individual and team accomplishments. Only in RealGM is he disrespected like that.

I think you mean only on RealGM have people taken a deeper look and seen just how close those 3 guys are. I have no issue with anyone has Kobe ahead of the other 2, but it's not a lock. Not on actual merit and not just ring-counting.

It's certainly not disrespectful to Kobe to be considered a peer of KG/Dirk unless one doesn't realize just how great those guys were.

No, lol.. only on RealGM can Dirk be put in the same sentence as Kobe Bryant.

Why does Jerry West keep talking and giving his opinion about stuff? Isn't he employed by the Clippers and supposed to be keeping his wisdom to his employer/client?

Yeah as I said before Jerry has a type and Ja fits that. Guards with good size and already developed skills like dribbling and shooting. Plus in general, He is hesitant on projects. Plus he’s a consultant so I don’t think Jerry is monitoring progress year to year and watching extensive film. He probably based it on watching Ja Morant flourishing as the center of the team and a Zion game where he is playing with other high level recruits and Zion is playing off ball a lot. If it’s from the horses mouth now I’m sure he’s giving his more informed opinion
Jarret Jack: “I brought one of my best suits. But looking down at this jersey, it’s just a sense of pride I don’t think I’ve ever felt as a professional. … Nothing in my closet is better than what I have on now."

Saying the clear two best prospects in the draft are the two best prospects in the draft isn't really wisdom. Especially when his team doesn't have a lottery pick.

I also think this statement might be a bit sarcastic.

So you are saying Lebron is not even half as good as Jordan?

According to a survey by The Athletic, polling 117 NBA players
Michael Jordan 73%
LeBron James 11.9%

Looks like the suns have a different opinion of course

I should have expected this at this point. Everyone has Zion at #1 except us
