Step back for a couple years and let the stink of the Suns front office wash away from him, spending the time still being paid by them while taking up another assistant coaching role then perhaps take another swing at being a coach with a franchise that has a competent owner.

Agreed. He'll probably go back at assistant coaching for a while before (and if) he gets a shot at a HC gig again.

Kokosov was actually decent. He deserves another shot. Probably ends up an assistant somewhere for a few years before he gets another shot though.

He's been assistant coach in the NBA for about 20 years. How much time does he need?

He's already qualified to be a head coach, the problem is those jobs don't come around that often.
The jobs that are perennially available are terrible situations for any coach, especially one that's not established as a head coach.

He did a fine job with the Suns and it was a surprise to all of us that he got fired, but that's how our FO has been for a long time.
Even during the Nash years, our FO wasn't great and made bad decision after bad decision thanks to our owner.

Kokoskov deserves a head coaching job, I just don't see one that is or will be available that suits him at this time.

Kokoskov has a better NBA future that the Suns so long as the franchise continues to be owned by Sarver. If it weren't for James Dolan, Sarver would be the worst owner in the NBA.

I don't think Igor has been stained by the Suns experience at all. If anything, the way things ended, and that this follows a well worn pattern shields him from the criticism or scrutiny that normally comes with being let go after one season. Hopefully he finds a situation that suits him, be it as head or assistant for the time being. He deserves another shot.

When he was hired last year, he was viewed as a top assistant, just like how Monty William is being viewed right now and how Luke Walton was viewed before he became Lakers HC.
