Klay Thompson is getting a free pass for his poor shooting this series. He's almost been as bad as Kyrie.
Flash forward to free agency.....if some team manages to pry Klay away from the Warriors (I don't think it'll happen because GS is a perfect situation for Klay) I think they're going to be disappointed by the return production. I don't think he's built to be the primary focus of a team's offense night after night.
I don't think there are any GMs stupid enough to believe that Klay can be a legitimate 1st option.
Whoo, I’d take that bet all day. Anything is possible when you look at John Wall’s disasterous contract.
I love Klay to death but always thought the idea of him being maxed as a #1 option was crazy. I’m not sure if he’s ever converted an And-1 after a breakdown dribble or drawn a foul on a rebound action. Ever. Factor in the slightly better than 1:1 assist:turnover and it could get worse than asking Harrison Barnes to lead your squad. He’s assisted on 69% of his twos and 93% of his threes. He pulls more than his share on defense and exemplary in off ball movement but he’s a total beneficiary when it comes to his on-ball deficiencies.
Do you know how valuable an elite 3 and D player is?
Apparently, that is what the Lakers needed to be a playoff team.
How much do you think the Jazz could use a good 3pt shooter with defense.
Klay is not a 1st option player, but then so what. He is still invaluable to the Warriors. Just like PJ Tucker is invaluable to the Rockets and he isn't even a 3rd or 4th option.
Role players fill a specific role and some are the key between making the playoffs, being a 2nd round team or being finals contender. Klay has nothing to worry about as far as his next contract......
I'm so tired of the typical......
