Because Giannis isn't been much better than kd in the regular season/playoffs?

It's LeBron and Curry, 2 of the most impactful players ever.

Then it's Kawhi
Then Giannis
And the Harden.

We'll see next year how bad is an offensive system with Durant running it as primary ballhandler, and a lot of people should apologize.

I’ll take the guy who led his team to the best record in the league, has loss one playoff game, might win MVP and DPOTY, and can play all 5 positions.

Oh yeah? Well I'm a Kawhi fan and I voted Giannis.

best is a polarising word

for me you have to factor in intangibles as well, starting with leadership, thus that wipes out most of those names above bar 3

bron (pre - lakers fiasco)
kawhi for what he is doing now with toronto
Giannis ditto with him and his cast in Milwaukee

If either kawhi or giannis beat the warriors with their respective teams, mind you both lacking a 2nd star, they enter the greatness conversation

For the last 3 years I've had LeBron 1, Kawhi 2 and that's where I still stand

Raptors are playing better so far... All shots are going IN. While Bucks are missing everything.

So we had a pretty fair amount of votes. According to RealGM, the best players in the NBA are:
1) Kawhi
2) Giannis
3) Kevin Durant
4) LeBron
5) Steph Curry
6) Jokic
7) Harden

I have the same top five, but with slightly different order. I think it’s a bit early to anoint Kawhi the best basketball player award, considering just one year ago he wasn’t even playing and he sat out a large chunk of the RS, but I’m a bit conservative in giving out the best basketball award, so I understand why people would vote for him, as his playoffs have been staggering.

I can't believe Harden has so little votes. Ignoring the ref baiting and flopping, what argument does the other players have over Harden?

I’m a little surprised he doesn’t have more votes. I personally have him as #6 after Curry, but I personally have no issue with him being #5 over Curry. I certainly have him over Jokic. Jokic has had a great year, but come on. Harden is a lot more consistent. Jokic might surpass him, but people really do hate Harden.

But lack of playoff success is why he’s probably not ahead of Kawhi, KD, and LBJ.

There no one on that Bucks team that can cover Kawhi, best player in the NBA.

Kawhi/KD sure, LBJ isn't even in the playoffs. His past year performances shouldn't be considered for best player THIS year.

1- Kawhi, he does it all. Absolutely no weak point in his game. Jumper- check, D- best in the business, playmaker- check, etc.
2-THE GREEK ONE AND ONLY. He also can do it all but unlike Kawhi don't have reliable jumper to save his life.
3-Harden. Best scorer in the game.
4 and 5- KD or Curry. To me it's a toss up.

He definitely top 3 player in the World. Since its all popularity he's playing on a wrong teams and haven't won it yet. If he would've played for Lakers or Knicks he would have most votes by far.

The answer is Giannis plays amazing defense all season long and offense all season long bot regular and playoffs, is a great playmaker and a passer and has gravity only Lebron and Curry had.

Harden is out my 5, too many years int he playoffs he has been bad or underwhelming

Top 5 in no order:
Kawhi, Giannis, Lebron, KD, Curry

Harden is at 6
