If Zion has the courage to confront Pelicans management and make it clear how much he despises the team, they'll trade him, because they can get whatever they want for him
But I seriously doubt he has the courage or self-confidence to do that.
He's not a man.

I do think Nike would pay Zion at least $100,000,000.00 more of played for the Knicks. And Nike would make more $$$$ too.

Why call it an Eli Manning, when your handle is LakersLegacy?

Calling it a Kobe would make more sense in this context, since it's the NBA, and he forced his way to the Lakers.

Kobe was the 13th pick out of highschool. I think he may have been the first guard ever out of highschool.

Eli was the top guy. And he didn’t want to SD, California even though it may be the best city! They have every type of beach and vibe there.

Eli didn’t want to play for Marty (I don’t know how to spell his last name) Shothiemer??

Because both Zion and Eli wanted NY I went with Eli

China maybe - back to Duke? Nah.

China would pony up huge money for one year of Zion and it would be a branding/marketing coup for the kid long term (outside of New Orleans of course) given one billion Chinese vs NOP fanbase size (and some salty NBA fans from other cities who thinks the kid should go to the bad situation with the Pellies because "draft"). Nike would still sign him to silly money contract because of the China reach and he could use that money to get a huge injury insurance policy - he'd be set for life without having to stay in draft and sign with Pellies.

Will he do that - not bloody likely. He'll be a Pelican for the next 9 years.

I’m sure Williamson will be handled perfectly fine by the Pels.....just like AD was and probably much better than what KP got with the Knicks.

If he were seriously considering it though.....that would be a red flag on his character and intellect. Are they aware that NBA will still have the lottery in place next year?

Or he could take an internship from a shoe company like that kid did. I still think it’s stupid and he’ll be a Pelican.

Another garbage narrative being pushed by the media because they're up the asses of the garbage ass New York Knicks, a franchise whose bark is louder than their bite.

It's the truth. The coverage of the draft lottery was appalling.

Zion should just go to NOP , play 3 years and get up out of there. It’s hard to pass up that guaranteed 100mil to go back to Duke.

Before the draft, there was a report that Zion didn't even want to play in a major market. During the lottery, you could tell how uncomfortable he was with the adulation.

Zion playing in NO next to AD is just about the best case scenario for him personally. The narratives being driven are irrational and exist solely because some big market team media types have decided that they are owed something.

Exactly.

the coverage in this area (North NJ/NYC) was embarrassing especially. The media acted like the Knicks were entitled to the 1st pick.

And yet, we're still 3-4 years ahead of schedule on our rebuild. Maybe if the Knicks get themselves some competent management in the front office and in player development they can do the same.

also, I'd gladly put Russell/Dinwiddie/LeVert/Kurucs/Allen up against that 5 any day of the week.

Did Zion take advice from Patrick McCaw's father?

McCaw passed up a guaranteed 2 yrs/$5 M deal by listening to his father and not his agent. He ended up with a non-guaranteed 2 yrs/$6 M deal. The Cavs let him go instead and he ended up signing a 1 yr/$786 K deal with the Raptors. McCaw will be a RFA again after the season.

Man this is getting sad. Hope he stays in the draft and has great success with the Pelicans. Nothing enhances a legacy more than elevating a losing franchise.

Yeah - I was gonna say, while those players are all pretty good, it’s not THAT great of a team. Current Brooklyn plus cap provably in same league.
