Marion was like a perennial all-star. This thread is insulting.

There is No Marion or Iggy type player currently and if so the players have not shown that potential. Both of these guys are very key pieces on a team. There are probably plenty guys with the tools though.

I like this mention.

May be no SF right now that really fits the bill, but Bledsoe has that same profile as dynamic athlete who could score, pass, rebound etc., but never a pure shooter. Now the question will be can a combo guard type age as well as those guys did and still be an effective defensive specialist late in his career. Normally guards fall off worse once their quickness goes.

Maybe one day years hence guys like Tatum and Siakim will have had that type of career arc too.

They pretty close, I'll give Iggy edge due to fact he is/ was much better passer. Given chance he was playmaker in both Philly and Nuggs.

Siakam/Marion comp is decent....Marion higher motor but obviously had the benefit of playing with a top tier playmaking PG in his prime. That's good though, I like that 1.

Iggy/Butler isn't bad. Both could only take teams so far being the best player early in their career. Obviously Iggy was able to land on GS whereas Butler likely isn't gonna be able to find basketball nirvana like that.

Can't believe Cavs took Luke Jackson 10th when Iggy went 9th...That could've changed some history if he was Bron's sidekick.

Jrue Holiday is the PG version of Iggy. Plays all out all the time, is way better offensively than anyone realizes and a crazy-good defender. Not quite elite but everything they do is a winning style of bball.

Honestly watching Kelly Oubre play, he has that quick twitch jumping ability that rivals Marion IMO. Oubre just needs to stay focused defensively. Siakam also reminds me of Marion.
