Nice game Marc. Probably his best scoring game of the playoffs.

Lacks logic completely. If Gasol hadn't been so sloppy and out of it the Raptors could have beaten Sixers in 5, for all we know. Focusing on game 7 lacks logic. The above post is written like if Gasol hadn't been there Raptors would have played 4 on 5....

Much, much better game for Marc.
Hope that gets him going.
Didn't shy away from shots, played great defense, and made all the right passes.
An aggressive Gasol is a huge boost for the Raps.

Yes Gasol is the reason for that jump. Nothing else about the Raptors changed in the past year.

I'd rather have Gasol than JV right now but c'mon

Just thought I'd bump this since yet again he was freakin' amazing on defense and continued to show his extremely high BBIQ and his soft touch in G4. Offensive struggles or not, he's been an integral part of the Raptors' success in these playoffs.

Typical realgm hottakes... anyone who saw the first 2 rounds can understand how valuable he was in playoffs. He was successfully aboe to negate the threat of opposition's main scorer in both first & 2nd Round. Vuc was almost a non factor offensively whenever Gasol was on court. Embiid struggled to post up against Marc. Even historically, Embiid always did struggle against Marc. Granted that he had a slow start against Bucks, but he has had really 2 good games in a row again. He has also been really good defensively. Sometimes, you cannot really do much when Brook Lopez is hitting those long 3's like he did in the first game

If Embiid and Gasol switched teams, then Philly would have eliminated Toronto :x

Marc Gasol is a career #1 option on good teams, and a defensive player of the year.

And he's the raps #4 option.

And people actually believe that the raps have no depth.

I think the Bucks were willing to bet Gasol would be reluctant to shoot those back-breaking 3s in game 4.

Gasol's on a better and deeper team. He's effectively option #3 or 4 in Toronto whereas he was looked upon as option #1 or 2 in Memphis...of course his offence was going to suffer. That shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who is actually thinking and not simply reacting to a bunch of numbers.

But...like many others have said, Marc Gasol is the reason why Nic Vucevic and Joel Embiid, 2 all-star centers...were effectively neutered and couldn't dominate like they did in the regular season.

I don't need Gasol to be dominant in order for the Raptors to win this series but he needs to score double digits in the least if they are to beat the Bucks. Give me 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and that's a bare minimum for success (and that is a very attainable stat line). Anything more from Gasol at 34 on a team in which Leonard, Siakam and Lowry are expected to carry much of the offensive load is gravy.

I like how nick nurse reminded Gasol “you are a great player” “a sign of a great player is he makes teammates play better”

That’s not aimed at only Gasol imo and is kinda brilliant.

He was an absolute stone wall vs. Embiid, that’s a big part of why that guy got so up in his feels in that series. No way Ibaka or Valanciunas could have handled handled him, that’s why they traded for Gasol. There’s almost no chance they get out of the 2nd round without him.

We're not winning the Philly series without Marc. I don't know how you can argue otherwise. It's like people forgot that JV was not a good on one end of the floor, especially as a help defender.

Nah. More like if Simmons and Lowry, or Simmons and Siakam, or Simmons and Kawhi switched teams, Philly may have eliminated the Raptors. The Sixers were trash with Embiid on the bench you troll. Our coach's lack of playoff experience is why this game went to 7 games ultimately imo.
