Call me a homer if you want but I don't see how he's not. He's better than Klay Thompson, he's better than Bradley Beal, he's better than Devin Booker. And off the top of my head, I can't think of anyone else in the conversation.

He's a better playmaker and finisher than all of them. He's a better ball handler than them. He's a better clutch/big game player than they are, imo. Booker and Thompson are definitely better shooters than him but Beal is not that much better of a shooter, its close if anything or even. He's just as good a defender as Klay if not better, but if someone says Klay is better, I wouldn't argue. And even though they could all be better long range shooters than him, he's a pretty good mid range shooter and turned himself into a pretty good 3 point shooter too. But he's one of the only players I see that will pull up in the mid range consistently. Him, Klay, Kawhi, KD, and others. Almost everyone else is either launching 3's or trying to get all the way to the rim.

He needs to work on his decision making and he needs to continue working on his shooting and ball handling. He needs to continue working on his ability to beat double teams. I think he does a good job but he should watch more Steph and how he handles double teams. And he needs to do more scoring when the Pacers go through these droughts. He's shown the ability to score in bunches so I don't feel like we should ever have scoring droughts if he's on the court.

I didn't look up any stats, this is pretty much straight from the eye test.

idk about definitively saying he's better than Beal - they seem pretty even without taking a deep dive into their stats and game tape and whatnot - but he can do more than Klay and he's obviously better than Booker.

I mean Klay, Butler, Beal should all be very close to him. I think in time Mitchell will get himself back on track and in the conversation but for now it probably is Vic. HMs to guys like CJ, DeRozan...

I’d take Klay and Jimmy over him easily, please. Those are two way players who can also score.

Edit: I do like Dipo a lot though, and hope he comes back at 100%.

He absolutely is better than Klay, Beal, CJ, etc. Harden and Butler are the only 2 I rank above him, but even Butler is close. Oh how quickly people forget a player when injuries happen...

He likely is, but he is injured. And this is league where "what have you done for me lately" dominates. And Oladipo lately isnt playing.

He's a candidate, but this thread would have worked much better if you'd started it a year ago rather than now.

This year even before the injury his scoring had fallen way back toward his career numbers after the dramatic one year surge. You start this thread coming off his season averaging 23.1pts on .577TS%, not off the injury season averaging 18.8pts on .519TS%.

I like him, but I think Book/Beal are going to be the next great SG’s once Harden starts to age.

I do think people have forgotten about Oladipo since he got hurt. He’s certainly in the convo.

He’s better at defense than my Wizards’ Beal, so I’d place him over Beal.

If he had 3-5 years like last year you’d have a case. But he’s only had one in six years, so no. He’s currently behind all those guys and McCollum.
