I know for most of us it's crazy to think that this is even a question. But I'm just curious to see how many people actually feel this way after seeing this video.

Like Harden or not he carried the Rockets for much of the season. Max needs to tone it down on the sodium intake

Of course he does. I shouldn't even be wasting my time responding to a Kellerman take, but his argument is ridiculous and has no substance (Harden doesn't belong on the first team because you'd take 5 players before him, with no explanation of WHY Harden would fall below those 5 players). I can sympathize with the argument that All-NBA teams should include playoffs, or that they should be positionless, but those ARE the rules, and under those rules Harden is a no-doubt first teamer. Even in Kellerman's perfect world of including playoff performance and excluding position restrictions, the argument to exclude Harden is pretty weak. He still had a great, if not MVP caliber playoffs (31.6/6.9/6.6, 3 STOCKS, above average TS%, lower TOV% than during the RS, 8.4 BPM against 2 great defenses), and oh btw where was LeBron this spring? Also, no mention of Jokic who if anything accentuates his case for first team with his stellar playoffs? This is just classic First Take talking about nonsense for the attention (and I'm guilty of giving it to them)

The dude is either the MVP or the runner up to the MVP this season. Of course he deserves it.

Do these people understand what All-NBA Teams are supposed to be?

He's a boxing commentator who wasn't that good there. So clearly a sport he'd never watched is where he'll be great at giving in depth analysis.

Max Kellerman is so desperate for validation that he'll say anything that goes against common sense to sound sophisticated.

Yet his go-to "advanced stat" is PER.

I prefer to listen to Skip's hot takes to be honest.

Imagine scoring 36 PPG , 48 points per 100 possessions and media uses your all nba team selection as click bait.

Those voting no, please state your reasoning and your alternative pick. And for the love of ****, please don’t just say, “Because flopping”!

Kellerman is right. But in same time James Harden is not top MVP candidate for me. And to me stats and efficency are overrated due softness of NBA era and rules. Where James represents perfect example of exploits on rules of this softest era while playing only one way basketball.

Oh my God, watching that video made me so mad. He has one of the most punchable faces of all time. And why is he yelling constantly?!

As someone posted above, the award is BY DEFINITION a regular season award. If he doesn’t like that, DON’T **** VOTE (or comment). I’m hoping he actually isn’t a voter in real life for any official awards. And yes it is by position. I agree it shouldn’t be, but it is.

I’ve always hated him. Something about how he talks. Like he has cotton in his mouth.

Harden ranked 32nd in RAPM this year.
Harden actually was really good offensively, but was really bad defensively. His impact is significantly overstated.
With that said, most people here pay attention only to box score stats. So feel free to call me delusional. You'll get some and1s. I don't have the time to explain today why winning and defense matter when evaluating a player.
