rewatched the game. GS decided to give Gasol, Green and Siakram all the open threes to load on Leonard. Bold strategy by Kerr, all three had strechtes in the playoffs where they missed everything. not tonight.
Toronto played great, Pascal was a monster and also hit some lucky shots. They exploited the forced switch on Curry beautifully.

in the end they simply made mo shats.

Let's see how GS responds, they were clearly out of rhythm, extremley important win by Raptors.

Also I don't even listen to his music, but I'm a fan of Drake now.

I thought the plan to double Kawhi just gave the Raptors too much open space in the halfcourt. Almost like he was coaching from the perspective of what he had seen in the previous series.

I agree. The Warriors were giving up a ton of open 3's and space for Siakam to drive when they tried to double Kawhi. Even when they had great switching and rotations, they eventually ended up out of position or scrambled and gave away offensive boards. Without Durant, the Warriors aren't long/big enough to effectively trap Kawhi. Meanwhile, Curry was getting trapped by his defender + Gasol to perfection.

However, I'm not sure a LeBron approach of letting Kawhi get his (against Iggy/Green/Looney) and then trying to stop everyone else would work. At least not without Durant or some type of legitimate rim protection.

Raptors in 7, with or without Durant. Don’t know why people thinkwarriors would win with Durant. But with cousins back, might be raptors in 5

yeah Cousins completly kills their flow. He's a solid passer but he's so slow I don't even have a comparison and he lost on defense.
It's was nice by Kerr to give him some minutes in a finals game but he should keep him on the bench from now on.

Klay had 21 points but it was one of the quietest 21 point performances you'll ever see. Mr. "I Should be All-NBA" needs to have a bigger impact on the game.

KD's not coming back for Game 2. Boogie will only play 10 minutes or so. Iggy is hobbling. Klay needs to do more on the offensive end to help make up for those three guys. Steph did his part and more.

When curry is off the floor there is no flow. At least he had a few good passes. He shouldn't be playing next to jerebko though

Nah that's not what happened. What happened was that Kawhi got trapped so much that his cast like Siakam was allowed to get great shots and go off, while Curry simply failed to do the same. No such thing as getting carried here. Ask Ws fans they'll tell you.

Carried was a stretch but the last part isn't true curry passed out of the trap but other than Klay the warriors have no other shooters available. While everyone on the raptors is capable of shooting

Clay's shot. Damn, son. The small amount of time and space required for him. Incredible.

I would've agreed with you a couple of weeks ago but I've been taught that this is how it works. When a star struggles and is trapped/doubled, you gotta give all credit for his teammates stepping up to him. When his teammates shoot like crap, that isn't an excuse because he simply failed to leverage his gravity enough. I'm as shocked as you are but thems the rules in Curryland.
Who knows maybe Klay and the others will play better and then all the credit can go to Curry again, but for this game at least, Kawhi simply helped his team more than Curry did :-D
